Job Title : Nuclear Engineer (Naval Reactors Engineer) Category / Component : Officer • Active Overview Design, regulate, and oversee the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, including reactor design, fleet operations, and eventual defueling and decommissioning of nuclear powered ships and submarines from Naval Reactors Headquarters and associated Department of Energy laboratories and shipyards.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical direction in areas such as reactor and fluid systems design, reactor physics, materials development, component design for steam generators, pumps, and valves, instrumentation and control for reactor and propulsion plants, testing and quality control, radiation shielding, and chemistry and radiological controls; review designs and analyses from laboratories, shipyards, and industry partners; coordinate with fleet units to ensure safe and reliable nuclear plant operation.

How You Will Get Here: Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Experience: 4+ years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing finance Experience reviewing and analyzing Bills of Material (BOM) and production routings Understanding of inventory accounting, absorption costing, and variance analysis Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and consistent delivery of high-quality work Advanced Excel skills required; SAP experience strongly preferred (Essbase, HFM a plus).
Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to translate financial data into operational insights.

Responsibilities:
- Support plant operations by evaluating equipment performance, material handling systems, and process reliability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze production processes and recommend mechanical, operational, or system improvements to increase safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Support facility and process evaluations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of plant operations, equipment capability, and production processes.
- Define, implement and maintain process documentation associated with operating production equipment
- Support the operations teams to ensure that best practices are shared across the site
- Collaborate with production, quality, and operations teams to resolve process issues and implement improvements.
- Identify efficiency opportunities to drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, and reduce costs or waste.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, or related)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial production environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and improve production processes.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
- Ability to occasionally support weekend or off-hour production needs as required.
