The Digital Products Configuration Management (DPCM), formerly known as Software Configuration Management (SWCM), department, is hiring a Principal Digital Product Configuration Management Engineer. The DPCM department provides innovative solutions through automation, continuous improvement, and a skilled workforce providing support for all digital products.

The term 'Digital Product' (DP) refers to, but is not limited to, the following software types and their associated data and documentation: embedded (tactical) software, applications, Built-in Test (BIT) software, reprogramming tools, simulation software, test equipment, configurable logic, Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design, analytical tools used to formally qualify deliverable artifacts, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) system models or related artifacts, Free Open Source Software (FOSS), and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software.

Note This position will be filled onsite at the RTX Facility Huntsville, AL.

What You Will Do

  • Perform builds and releases of digital products manually and/or certified pipelines
  • Facilitate/Participate in the Process Change Boards (PCBs)/Digital Change Review Boards (DCRBs)
  • Maintain, control, and administer of the Digital Products Development Library (DDL) (formerly known as Software Digital Library (SDL) tools
  • Maintain control, traceability, consistency, and security of all configuration items across the digital development lifecycle
  • Perform and maintain configuration planning & identification, change management & version control, status accounting, and configuration audits
  • Manage digital product development/media libraries
  • Document and maintain guidelines and standards for dependency management, build and versioning
  • Provide DPCM Tool administration / management control/access to CM relevant tools/applications (i.e. Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (ADS), Git, Gitlab, GitHub, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
  • Administer/manage/use DevSecOps tools like Coverity, Artifactory, Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab CI/CD, Bamboo
  • Coordination of data transfers, courier support among various environments
  • Lead coordination of various digital product releases and interface with functional and program leadership ensuring on-time delivery and configuration management execution in digital development environment/area

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) a minimum 8 years of prior engineering experience
  • Experience with version control and change management/agile planning tools
  • Experience with DPCM/DevSecOps technology, Information Technology (IT), and/or development/scripting
  • Experience with Automation shell scripting in Linux, Unix, and Windows
  • Active and Current Secret security clearance is required Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Our technology base includes high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and homogeneous / heterogeneous multiprocessor designs.

What You Will Do

The Effector Guidance Electronics Department  designs digital electronic circuit cards and electronic units which are supported from proposal through transition to production. Our systems are subject to environments ranging from the frigid, sub-zero vacuum of space to the blistering heat of the desert floor, to the high pressures of the ocean depths.

The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer  is responsible for the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for missile applications. The candidate should be experienced in all aspects of circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART. 

This position is 100% ONSITE in Huntsville, Alabama.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years engineering digital circuit design experience

  • Experience in the development and design of electronic circuit designs, and/or multi-assembly system/unit design

The Production Engineer will provide a subject-matter-expert level of support to the Program Executive Office (PEO) Missile and Space (M&S) Integrated Fires & Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office’s Performance Management Directorate. The candidate is required to have experience in production management and manufacturing to support an Army Air and Missile Defense program currently in the production phase. This position is responsible for providing senior level leadership, guidance, technical expertise, and support in the functional area of Production Engineering to ensure that systems and system components fulfill requirements and standards. The candidate will be responsible for the strategic integration of production requirements across multiple hardware/software configurations as well as adapting production improvements concepts to ongoing agile hardware development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Coordinate the production program management efforts and requirements, ensuring comprehensive planning and documentation to meet established production schedules.
- Proactively identify and address trends in production and performance parameters to mitigate potential issues.
- Conduct data analysis and report program results and conclusions formally and informally through technical reports, briefings, memos, and white papers.
- Maintain active involvement in key programmatic engagements with prime contractor, including but not limited to Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs), and Failure Review Boards (FRBs).
- Develop and implement production strategies and plans with ability to utilize systems engineering concepts to ensure components and software meet performance requirements.
- Develop strategic production metrics to support oversight and monitoring of hardware and integration activities.
- Independently perform and report trend analysis for hardware and integration activities within all lab, assembly, contractor, and production facilities.
- Develop white papers to outline recommendations for production/integration gaps to support the USG in prioritizing requirement execution on a quarterly basis.Supports Production/Pilot Line Validation activities providing independent assessments and recommendations for the USG.
- Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and waivers/deviations for their impact on product integrity and producibility, providing data analysis and reporting to USG leadership on recommendations for approval.
- Review Contract Deliverable Requirement Lists (CDRLs) for Production, providing technical expertise and assessment to support Government acceptance of CDRLs.Mentor and provide recommendations to other Production Engineers. Provide expert guidance on program milestone requirements, core production engineering competencies, contract requirements package contents related to production, product sell off processes, and prime/sub-contractor production management.
- Assist in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) to support assigned products.
- Evaluate technical proposals to support assigned products, utilizing technical evaluation strategies/techniques to support the USG evaluation lead.

This position requires strong communication skills to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.  Experience with hardware integration and test, supplier first article inspections, production work instructions and failure investigation principals are strongly desired.

Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met. Candidate will ensure Technical Data Packages are maintained and updated as necessary. What You Will Do

  • Contribute to finding solutions to a wide range of technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical subsystems, including support in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon and at suppliers
  • Support first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations for production issues. Decisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards
  • Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, subassemblies, and end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
