CNC Machine Shop experience (hands on and managing people) The Manager is looking for someone that knows the ins and outs of a machine shop.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Machine Shop Supervisor will be responsible of day-to-day operations of the machining department to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost targets and all sustainment/improvement related action and activities. This role will be responsible of managing people, schedules, workflows, equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives (including client Lean System practices) while ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
SCOPE OF WORK:
• Oversee daily machining operations (CNC and manual) across multiple machines and cells.

• Control inventories (WIP, raw material, tooling, consumables).
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Safety to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Support cost reduction through waste elimination, optimized setups and programs, and tooling/process improvements.
• Enforce documentation control: routings, work instructions, drawings, programs, and change management.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

How you will add value to 20BLOC
The Head of Manufacturing will lead our manufacturing and MSAT teams as we transition from pre-clinical manufacturing and move into our newly built cGMP production facility. This role is responsible for the management and day-to-day oversight of our manufacturing and MSAT functions and will provide strategic direction to the business as we continue to scale and plan for future production needs. The Head of Manufacturing works closely with quality, supply chain, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing and MSAT Leadership
- Lead Production and MSAT as tightly integrated functions, owning day-to-day manufacturing execution and technical decision-making as the company transitions from pre-clinical operations into a new cGMP manufacturing facility
- Own day-to-day execution of manufacturing operations ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable batch execution
- Establish clear accountability for process ownership including yield, throughput, deviations, and continuous improvement
cGMP Facility and Scale-Up
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities for the new facility including operational readiness, staffing, training, and go-live execution
- Work hands-on with Engineering, Facilities, Quality, and 3rd parties to support equipment qualification and manufacturing area readiness
- Develop manufacturing strategies to support early and late-stage clinical as well as commercial manufacturing for future production and capacity expansion
MSAT & Process Ownership
- Oversee MSAT responsibilities including process characterization, tech transfer, and process validation
- Hold the MSAT team to a high bar for scientific and engineering excellence, ensuring process decisions are grounded in robust data and mechanistic understanding
- Drive data-driven process improvements under manufacturing and analytical data to improve robustness and consistency
People, Strategy, and Organizational Development
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Manufacturing and MSAT team capable of operating in a fast-moving startup environment
- Establish and implement lightweight manufacturing organizational structures, workflows, and standard practices appropriate for a growing GMP operation
- Provide clear technical and operational input to leadership on manufacturing risks, timelines, and scale-up strategy
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related technical discipline required
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a related field preferred
Experience
- 8 years+ of experience in GMP manufacturing, MSAT, process engineering, or technical operations within biotech, biopharma, or related regulated manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience leading or directly supporting GMP manufacturing operations including hands-on involvement
- Prior experience supporting or leading startup activities in new facilities or new manufacturing suites
- Experience managing and developing small, highly technical teams, preferably in a startup environment
- Experience in early-stage or clinical manufacturing environments (pre-IND through Phase II) strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong engineering or related technical foundation, with the ability to reason from first principles about process behavior, risk, and variability
- Hands-on GMP manufacturing expertise, including deviation investigation, root-cause analysis, and process troubleshooting on the production floor
- Data driven decision making, using experimental design and trend analysis of manufacturing data to improve robustness and consistency

Duties and Responsibilities
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations for the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons from illegally entering or attacking the United States. Typical duties include:
- Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels.
- Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.

Salary and Benefits

Qualifications
Experience:You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized professional aviation experience performing duties such as:
- Flying as a Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in an airplane and helicopter in all environments of flight, including night, poor weather, unfavorable terrain, low altitudes, or speed.
- Evaluating information rapidly and making judicious decisions promptly during in-flight operations.

Flight hour logbooks will be required at the time of your Flight Assessment for verification.

Responsible for the overall safe and efficient plant operations of Gillibrand Industrial Sands, Inc. Manages and directs the activities of production, quality control and implements the strategy for the facility. Manages the operations associated with Industrial Sand and aggregate production, including quarrying, mining, processing, quality control, stockpiling, loading and shipping. Responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of the facility, fixed and mobile equipment maintenance, and employee relations.
JOB DUTIES:
Operations Management:
· Oversee all aspects of Industrial Sand / Aggregate plant operations, including crushing, screening, washing, and material handling.
· Schedule and manage daily production to meet quality and volume targets.
· Monitor equipment performance and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs.
· Plans and schedules production requirements (people & equipment) to support daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecast to meet customer’s needs.
· Identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and resolves production and employee-related problems.
· Manages production meetings on the daily operations of the plant.
· Walks throughout the operation daily and ensures the cleanliness of the entire facility.
Personnel Management:
· Manages and supervises activities of salaried and hourly production and maintenance employees.

· Manages plant production operations to ensure cost efficiency, optimal plant and equipment utilization, and personnel allocation.
· Responsible for ensuring that the site meets or exceeds operating budget.
· Participate in Operation’s short- and long-range business planning.
Continuous Improvement:
·Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and productivity.
·Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
· Works on implementing cost-saving programs and/or continuous improvement activities to reduce costs and improve operating efficiency.
· Compiles data and provides information to analyze and recommends more cost-effective and technologically advanced methods of production processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
· BS degree in Engineering (Mining/ Civil, Mechanical/ Materials/ Mineral Processing); preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of 5 years’ prior work experience in supervising production employees, preferably at either an Industrial Sand or Industrial Minerals mine. Construction materials industry experience preferred
· Knowledge and understanding of modern principles and practices of supervising production employees
· Thorough knowledge of plant operations and their associated products, processes, and related equipment.
·Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, separation, and material handling equipment.
· Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations (MSHA and OSHA).
· Knowledge and understanding of business planning and financial forecasting requirements.
· Excellent leadership, communication, organization, conflict, and problem resolution skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages relevant to the position.
· Ability to plan and manage effectively using motivation and team-building skills.

WORK DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
· Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, as needed, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, dust mask respirator, protective clothing, gloves, and other personal protective equipment.
· Employee may be exposed to dusty and noisy environments and may be working occasionally in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain.
· Work environment will be both indoors in an office and outside in the quarry or plant.

The expected salary range for this position is $47,673.60 to $59,007.52 annually.
