BASIC PURPOSE:

• Create detailed cost estimates for the creation of customer quotations for injection mold tooling, injection molded products, and value added assemblies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Estimating & Quoting

o Prepare detailed cost estimates for injection molded parts, including:

Tooling (new molds, modifications, transfers)

Piece-part pricing

Secondary operations (assembly, pad printing, ultrasonic welding, etc.)

o Analyze customer RFQs, drawings, CAD models, and specifications

o Develop pricing based on material costs, cycle time, press size, labor, overhead, and margin targets

o Support quick-turn and formal quote requests

• Engineering & Technical Analysis

o Review part designs for manufacturability (DFM)

o Estimate mold complexity, cavitation, hot runner vs. cold runner, and tooling lead times

o Recommend process assumptions, material alternatives, and cost-reduction opportunities

o Collaborate with tooling vendors and internal mold design teams

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Work with sales to clarify customer requirements and pricing strategy

o Coordinate with manufacturing, tooling, and supply chain teams to validate assumptions

o Support customer technical discussions as needed

• Cost Management & Data Accuracy

o Maintain estimating models, cost databases, and historical pricing

o Track quote accuracy and provide post-launch cost feedback

o Assist with cost-down initiatives and re-quotes for production programs

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• 3+ years of experience in injection molding estimating, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, and tooling
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating or ERP systems
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience estimating multi-cavity, hot runner, or high-volume production tools
• Familiarity with automotive, medical, consumer, or industrial molded products
• Experience working with domestic and offshore tooling suppliers
• Background in mold design, processing, or project management

Scope of Position:

· Senior project manager to support various projects for Company Advanced Optics (AO) division.

· Responsible for leading technical teams and working with internal and/or external customers to define and execute programs and meet customer needs.

· Defines and executes overall program plans, including project schedules, budgets, and people resource needs, to enable programs to scale appropriately in each stage to meet technical, schedule, and cost targets.

· Drives progress from initiation through delivery, reconfirming each program's value proposition at each stage, and recommending the progression (or elimination) of programs at each stage to leadership, as appropriate.

· Constantly monitors for changes in customer requirements/scope or other assumptions and determines the impact on program strategy, business case, business model, predicted level of risk, resource requirements, speed, and value proposition.

· Works with customers during each stage to keep them engaged, to manage the scope of programs, and to interpret their perception of the product being developed.

· Sets key program messages and manages the information flow related to program direction, issues, needs, and progress with key program constituencies including business leadership, corporate leadership, customers, and team members.

· Develops and manages a compelling business case (including P&L and balance sheet implications) and value proposition for the product relative to the division's strategy, market needs, and competition.

· Identifies commercial, technical, and manufacturing levers to improve the program's business case.

· Oversees product testing and evaluation to confirm the initial value proposition, build fundamental understanding of the technology that enables continue differentiation, and ensure manufacturing implementation of requirements are met.

· Identifies potential origins of strategic control, ensures that intellectual property is protected.

· Utilizes Company Tollgate process to direct program activities.

Required Education:

· BS in Engineering - Optical, Mechanical or related field (or experience in optics) (preferred), Associate's Degree with significant relevant experience (minimum).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and manage data pipelines, storage environments, and access controls for research datasets. Oversee data integrity, documentation, and metadata standards across projects. Implement data governance practices aligned with HIPAA and institutional policies. Assist with data extraction, transformation, and preparation for analysis. Support integration of diverse data sources, including EHR, 3rd party diagnostic/clinical systems data, survey, and administrative data.
• Partner with investigators, analysts, clinicians, and administrative staff to understand technical needs and translate them into solutions. • Provide training and support for research teams using IT tools and platforms. • Assist with scoping prospective projects, participating in projects from kickoff through "definition of done" via end-to-end ownership.
• Use your industry experience to own and drive resolution and retest complex security events, policy questions and technical security risks.

Your experience should include...

• 7+ years of progressive security engineering experience across Security Architecture, Cryptography, Network, Cloud, Mobile, and Web Security.
• Skilled in Secure Development Lifecycle, Security by Design, and Shift Left methodologies.
• Proficient in Threat Modeling, Architecture Review, Penetration Testing, Code Review, SAST, and DAST.
• Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, and PowerShell.
• Adept at applying security best practices for compliance, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

You might also have...

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Hosting industry and/or cloud Experience.
• Experience in hardware security.
