This person will be responsible responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers for automotive exterior components, with a focus on injection-molded plastic parts and related materials. This role supports program launches by ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met while building a strong and reliable supply base.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and manage suppliers for exterior plastic components (fascia, grilles, cladding, trim, etc.)
• Lead RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
• Support program launches (Job 1) by ensuring supplier readiness and on-time delivery
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for injection-molded components and materials (resins)
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve cost, quality, and delivery issues
• Identify and drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
• Analyze cost drivers including tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Monitor supplier performance and mitigate risks to ensure supply continuity
• Ensure compliance with commercial agreements and company standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of purchasing experience within automotive or manufacturing
• Strong experience sourcing injection-molded plastic components
• Experience with resin procurement or material sourcing preferred
• Proven ability to lead supplier negotiations and RFQ processes
• Experience supporting automotive program launches
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Plex, or similar)
