What you will do
The Manufacturing & Controls Engineer participates as a team member in small and large projects in the Manufacturing Facility. The Engineer provides mechanical, electrical, and system design deliverables for assigned projects. The Engineer develops process specification changes, creates and update Operator and Maintenance Work instructions for the assembly processes and assembly equipment as assigned. Updates to Assembly Process Flow Charts and PFEMA documentation are also assignments for the Engineer. The Engineer will be development to the level of a competent SME (Subject Matter Expert) for assigned Assembly Equipment and Processes.

How you will do it

- Participate in cross-functional teams assignments to develop changes to existing equipment.

- Function as a Project Lead in smaller development projects that have impact on the business objectives.

- Provides technical support for plant operations including maintenance support, capital project implementation, and Six Sigma project rollout support.

- Prepare project review information to share with team members, supervisor, manager and director and other appropriate leadership levels on a specified frequency for specified projects.

- Implement process changes on existing equipment, and assist with the development and installation of production expansion equipment in the assembly.

- Assist corporate and plant level Safety, Environmental, and Quality Assurance Dept. personnel to ensure that manufacturing assembly processes and assembly equipment meet all Safety, Environmental, and Quality and Engineering requirements.

- Communicate with plant manufacturing employees to align project focus and to define barriers to production performance that require attention.

- Develop equipment functional statements of work, equipment acceptance test plans.

- Travel to equipment supplier sites to perform equipment qualification and acceptance testing evaluation.

- Performs other tasks as assigned.

Department Environment

Our flight department operates a single Gulfstream G650 in support of executive travel. As a small, highly collaborative team, we value professionalism, accountability, discretion, and a commitment to operational excellence.


The First Officer will work closely with the Chief Pilot in all aspects of flight operations and will be positioned for future Captain upgrade consideration based on performance, leadership development, and operational needs.


Schedule & Quality of Life

This Part 91 operation emphasizes long-range planning and schedule predictability. In most cases, trips are scheduled with approximately 60 days of advance visibility.


While flexibility is essential in corporate aviation, short-notice trips are infrequent and typically occur only under rare or unexpected circumstances.

Job Purpose

The MRB Design Engineer - Structures & Systems reviews defects, establishes root cause, provides an acceptable disposition to repair the discrepant condition using engineering principles and determines if corrective action is required.

Key Accountabilities

1. Reviews discrepancy documents to fully understand non-conforming aircraft structure or systems affecting production or flight test aircraft. A priority will be given to engineers who possess skill sets in both structures and various systems.

2. Develops repair dispositions. Ensures that the proposed repair is structurally and functionally equivalent to the blueprint design and that it will not affect systems functionality.

3. Provides on site technical support, including interpretation of Engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, and other systems related documents.

4. Assists in determining if discrepancies are Engineering related or workmanship issues and documents findings.

5. Initiates design and process changes to correct design errors, resolve complex, chronic manufacturing problems to improve produce-ability and cost of the aircraft.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

1. Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; experience can be used in lieu of degree requirements.

2. 5+ years experience of MRB type design and/or repair of aircraft structures & systems. 

3. Working knowledge of Aircraft structure and aircraft systems, materials, fasteners, production methods, corrosion prevention, production hand tools, non-destructive testing, and Standard Repair Methods (SRM).

4. Working knowledge of Mechanical Systems concepts and troubleshooting methods.

5. Working knowledge of CATIA V5, 2D engineering dwgs, parts lists, and aircraft effectivity.

6. Working knowledge of SAP preferred.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes.

8. Ability to write clear, concise, and easily understandable step-by-step rework, repair, and system troubleshooting instructions.

9. Ability to create rework/repair drawings using either, CATIA, PowerPoint, Word, or hand drawn sketches.

10. Ability to effectively communicate with all MRB team members and with all levels throughout any HACI organization.

11. Ability to work independently or within a team oriented environment.

12. Willingness to travel to the shop floor or adjacent buildings to investigate problems on the aircraft or in production areas. Ability to communicate well with shop floor personnel.

1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.

2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology ”or“ movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
