Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Front-Line Production & Test Engineering Manager to lead production, assembly, and verification of custom-designed and fabricated printed circuit boards (PCBs) and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for the Electronic Products and Design (EPD) team in Kent, WA .

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people-first leadership in which you will help build and mentor cohesive, cross-functional teams that deliver safe, reliable flight hardware. The successful candidate is collaborative, values open communication, and actively develops teammates by sharing knowledge, coaching on best practices, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and respect. You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain leads to remove obstacles, align priorities, and drive predictable outcomes while fostering an inclusive environment where team members feel empowered to raise issues, propose improvements, and contribute to long-term product and process excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

* Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
* Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
* Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.
* Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
* Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
* Manages, develops, and motivates employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
* 5+ years of experience in engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
* Experience with PCB design for flight hardware: understanding of multi-layer board stack-ups, controlled impedance, high-speed signal integrity, differential pair routing, and power distribution network design.
* Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes: board fabrication technologies, via types (through-hole, blind/buried, microvias), copper plating, soldermask/legend, and surface finish options.
* Experience specifying and qualifying PCB suppliers and contract manufacturers: supplier audits, capability assessment, lead-time negotiation, and transfer of design data to manufacturers with clear assembly/inspection requirements.
* Understanding of assembly considerations: pick-and-place constraints, component footprint validation, stencil design, solder paste processes, reflow profiles, and wave/hand soldering where applicable.
* Proficiency in manufacturing documentation and process control for PCB production: creation/review of assembly drawings, process work instructions, soldering procedures, rework guidelines, and in-process inspection criteria.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills: able to coordinate across design engineering, manufacturing, test, supply chain, and quality teams.
* Demonstrated familiarity with quality and manufacturing systems such as AS9100, ISO standards, and corrective action processes.
* Practical understanding of test methods and instrumentation (functional test, environmental, vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC) and data acquisition/analysis tools.
* Experience with production processes: assembly work instructions, tooling, fixtures, tolerance stack-up, process capability and manufacturing principles.
* Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs; familiarity with configuration management and technical documentation control.
* Proficiency with manufacturing/test software tools and basic data literacy for KPI tracking.
* Ability to plan, budget, and schedule production/test activities, including resource allocation and risk mitigation for on-time delivery.

Job Responsibilities


  • Ensure the plant employees and guests on site comply with safety and environmental practices – lead by example and build a safety first culture
  • Lead production scheduling to meet customer needs including timely delivery
  • Develop a keen focus on customer service and proactive communication across the team
  • Partner with the engineering team to ensure proper drawings and designs are being used during the manufacturing process
  • Purchase material/services to successfully operate the facility
  • Successfully hire, supervise, orient, train and retain operations/product staff
  • Promote and maintain a clean workplace that is “tour-ready” at all times
  • Ability to read drawings, plan production tasks from those drawings, and coach employees to produce product correctly
  • Ability to operate some of the standard tools on the plant floor such as overhead cranes, hand tools, batch plant, etc. While the Plant Manager will not be asked to operate these things continuously, having some of these skills will make him/her a better coach and troubleshooter
  • Be a leader and coach leadership. Motivate crews during morning huddles. Lead effective Mid-Day meetings. Coach Leads on how to set expectations on a whiteboard and have them followed. Lead inventory counts. Promote safety best practices in meetings with other Plant Managers
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager as deemed appropriate and necessary by them


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience working in a leadership role in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience with precast/concrete or building materials is a plus
  • Proven track record of developing, leading and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset at the plant
  • Ability to work on your feet for the majority of the day in a production/plant environment subject to areas that are unheated and/or non-air conditioned
  • Ability to work with computer as necessary (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AX)
  • Ability to lead and direct other individuals and work with other group leaders

  • The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 plus variable sales incentive pay. (The compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience).



Qualifications:

  • An expert at preconstruction, construction management, and mechanical / plumbing estimating with a focus on Life Science and Biotech mechanical systems.
  • Sales/Customer (5+ years) and capable of expanding Hermanson’s expertise and relationships in life science and biotech markets
  • Excel and Bluebeam proficiency preferred.
  • The qualified candidate must have demonstrated the ability to analyze and perform pursue/no pursue and bid/no bid recommendations and develop pursuit strategies for new business opportunities. The position will also require previous experience in evaluation, competitive environment assessment, value-based pricing, price to win analyses and probability of winning. A proven track record of negotiation and closing high value contracts involving strategic business relationships. A candidate must have the following experience:
  • Contract negotiation with GC executives, Owners, Sr. PMs, & key personnel
  • Familiarity with Estimating, project management, engineering functions and practices
  • Possess strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to positively influence and persuade others

  • Preconstruction and Project Management Oversight, which shall involve working closely with the Project Management and Field Teams to ensure a seamless project delivery. This may include the following, depending on specific project details:

As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA) you will perform aviation-based law enforcement operations for the detection, prevention, interdiction, and apprehension of terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons from illegally entering or attacking the United States. Qualifications

Experience:You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized professional aviation experience performing duties such as:

  • Flying as a Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in an airplane and helicopter in all environments of flight, including night, poor weather, unfavorable terrain, low altitudes, or speed.
  • Evaluating information rapidly and making judicious decisions promptly during in-flight operations.

The AC5 Chief Engineer will lead the technical direction and engineering personnel of the Advanced Communications, Computing, Cyber, Command and Control (AC5) portfolio within the Phantom Works Tech Base division. Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is looking for an Associate or Mid-Level SAR Signal & Image Processing Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join the Kent Space SEIT team located in Kent, WA (Seattle, WA). This position will focus on developing radar analysis and algorithms in a mission-critical environment that directly empowers our defensive capabilities. You will develop and validate requirements for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems, perform trade studies, design and run tests to verify performance, support engineering compliance, and provide lifecycle root-cause analysis. Work is performed under general direction with contributions to proposals as needed.

This role emphasizes algorithm design and software implementation: develop and evaluate radar algorithms (signal and image processing, detection, tracking, imaging) and translate them into production-ready code. Proficiency in Python or C++ for algorithm development, prototyping, and data analysis is required; experience with signal and image processing toolsets, real-time software constraints, requirements tracing, and test-program design is highly valued. Strong analytical, communication, and customer-focused skills with a commitment to quality and safety are essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and test radar algorithms and translate analytic designs into production-ready code using Python (and other languages as needed)
  • Perform trade studies to evaluate algorithm and system performance; iterate designs based on results and test data
  • Participate in customer meetings, capture requirements and feedback, and provide technical support for operational tools and deployments.
  • Support agile software development practices: write user stories, participate in sprints, review code, and deliver incremental capability updates.
  • Define and execute test plans, perform root-cause analysis of anomalies, and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure requirements compliance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Requires an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in radar systems, electromagnetic analysis, or related fields, including algorithm development and system-level testing.
  • 1+ years' experience with Python, C++, C, or Matlab for algorithm development, prototyping, and data analysis; experience with signal processing toolsets and simulation environments
  • Demonstrated ability to derive and trace requirements, DEVELOP test CASES, and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Willing to travel domestically as needed (~10%)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active TS/SCI
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or related field with focus on radar or electromagnetics.
  • Experience with real-time software architectures and implementation (C/C++, RTOS, or embedded systems).
  • Prior work on radar signal processing algorithms (detection, tracking, SAR/ISAR, waveform design) or electronic warfare techniques.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, NumPy/SciPy, and signal-processing libraries and toolchains.
  • Hands-on experience with test-range operations, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and flight or ground test campaigns.
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and supplier/partner integration processes.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment and DevOps methodologies

Associate (Level 2) Summary Pay Range: $98,600 - $133,400

Mid-Level (Level 3) Summary Pay Range: $119,850 - $162,150
