Must have 3 years' experience in the last 10 years as a privileged flight surgeon at a US Military Installation.

Must have 35 hours per week of direct patient care over the past twelve (12) months.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition
  • Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical care nursing techniques
  • Operate and manage advanced life support equipment
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU environments, addressing physical and emotional needs
  • Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes in patient status
  • Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters
  • Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Required Qualifications:
  • One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
  • TNCC, NIHSS certification
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary:

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive, critical care to patients in the intensive care unit. This role encompasses assessing and monitoring critically ill patients, operating life-support equipment, administering advanced treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The position requires strong critical care skills, advanced clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics in high-acuity settings.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition
  • Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical care nursing techniques
  • Operate and manage advanced life support equipment
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU environments, addressing physical and emotional needs
  • Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes in patient status
  • Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters
  • Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations
  • Communicate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care
  • Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to protect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency

What you will do

- Provides the Nutrition Care Process. Formulates and implements pediatric specialty medical nutrition therapy plan of care. Documents in accordance with policy, procedure, and clinical practice guidelines.
- Understands and documents face to face and telehealth charging practices with subsequent input into the electronic charging system.
- Screens, triages, and prioritizes medical nutrition therapy consults for all age groups (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescent, and adult.)
- Completes nutrition assessments and identifies nutrition diagnosis/problem(s).
- Identifies and documents differing malnutrition indicators in the following groups: neonates, pediatrics, and adults.
- Monitors formula orders and calculates special recipes with or without additives for milk tech staff.
- Identifies and integrates trends in anthropometic indices and biochemical data, implications of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures.
- Performs pediatric nutrition focused physical findings to evaluate nutritional status throughout the lifecycle.
- Performs and ensures proper athropometric data and proper measuring techniques, including pediatric specific head circumference, segmental length, and recumbent length, and applies values to appropriate growth charts.
- Serves as resource for multidisciplinary team on proper anthropometric measuring techniques and equipment.
- Performs increased frequency of monitoring and adjusts pediatric plan of care, as pediatric patients can become malnourished quickly.
- Implements nutrition plan of care and works collaboratively with foodservice staff and milk techs to ensure conformance and continuation of said plan.
- Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team and the Nutrition Therapy team.
- Navigates wide network of pediatric formulas and additives and the corresponding companies to ensure tolerance and availability and patients fincial resources.
- Works with case management and social work to identify available resources for formula supplies between WIC, insurance, and community programs. Documents need for each resource, how much will come from each resource, and assists with document completion for insurance, DME and community resource formula coverages.
- Identifies goals and provides age-specific, culturally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers throughout the lifecycle.
- Uses evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and appropriate instructional methods and tools based on appropriate age groups.
- Documents in medical record patient's and/or caregiver comprehension and anticipated compliance with nutrition guidelines in measurable terms. Completes Ad Hoc charting for in-patient.
- Calculates special formula recipes for home and modifies as needed. Completes education with pt/caregivers, and documents formula education in the EMR.
- Monitors, trouble shoots, and communicates outpatient issues and nutrition plan of care in EMR messaging when patients are between outpatient appointments and/or inpatient admissions.
- Demonstrates professional development and leadership.
- Demonstrates performance measurement and quality improvement.

A Brief Overview

What you will do

- Provides the Nutrition Care Process. Formulates and implements pediatric specialty medical nutrition therapy plan of care. Documents in accordance with policy, procedure, and clinical practice guidelines.
- Understands and documents face to face and telehealth charging practices with subsequent input into the electronic charging system.
- Screens, triages, and prioritizes medical nutrition therapy consults for all age groups (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescent, and adult.)
- Completes nutrition assessments and identifies nutrition diagnosis/problem(s).
- Identifies and documents differing malnutrition indicators in the following groups: neonates, pediatrics, and adults.
- Monitors formula orders and calculates special recipes with or without additives for milk tech staff.
- Identifies and integrates trends in anthropometic indices and biochemical data, implications of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures.
- Performs pediatric nutrition focused physical findings to evaluate nutritional status throughout the lifecycle.
- Performs and ensures proper athropometric data and proper measuring techniques, including pediatric specific head circumference, segmental length, and recumbent length, and applies values to appropriate growth charts.
- Serves as resource for multidisciplinary team on proper anthropometric measuring techniques and equipment.
- Performs increased frequency of monitoring and adjusts pediatric plan of care, as pediatric patients can become malnourished quickly.
- Implements nutrition plan of care and works collaboratively with foodservice staff and milk techs to ensure conformance and continuation of said plan.
- Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team and the Nutrition Therapy team.
- Navigates wide network of pediatric formulas and additives and the corresponding companies to ensure tolerance and availability and patients fincial resources.
- Works with case management and social work to identify available resources for formula supplies between WIC, insurance, and community programs. Documents need for each resource, how much will come from each resource, and assists with document completion for insurance, DME and community resource formula coverages.
- Identifies goals and provides age-specific, culturally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers throughout the lifecycle.
- Uses evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and appropriate instructional methods and tools based on appropriate age groups.
- Documents in medical record patient's and/or caregiver comprehension and anticipated compliance with nutrition guidelines in measurable terms. Completes Ad Hoc charting for in-patient.
- Calculates special formula recipes for home and modifies as needed. Completes education with pt/caregivers, and documents formula education in the EMR.
- Monitors, trouble shoots, and communicates outpatient issues and nutrition plan of care in EMR messaging when patients are between outpatient appointments and/or inpatient admissions.
- Demonstrates professional development and leadership.
- Demonstrates performance measurement and quality improvement.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Education/Formal Training Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree Dietetics
- Master's Degree Dietetics

Work Experience Requirements

- 1-3 years experience as a registered dietitian.

- Implements nutrition plan of care and works collaboratively with foodservice staff and milk techs to ensure conformance and continuation of said plan.
- Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team and the Nutrition Therapy team.
- Navigates wide network of pediatric formulas and additives and the corresponding companies to ensure tolerance and availability and patients fincial resources.
- Works with case management and social work to identify available resources for formula supplies between WIC, insurance, and community programs. Documents need for each resource, how much will come from each resource, and assists with document completion for insurance, DME and community resource formula coverages.
- Identifies goals and provides age-specific, culturally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers throughout the lifecycle.
- Uses evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and appropriate instructional methods and tools based on appropriate age groups.
- Documents in medical record patient's and/or caregiver comprehension and anticipated compliance with nutrition guidelines in measurable terms. Completes Ad Hoc charting for in-patient.
- Calculates special formula recipes for home and modifies as needed. Completes education with pt/caregivers, and documents formula education in the EMR.
- Monitors, trouble shoots, and communicates outpatient issues and nutrition plan of care in EMR messaging when patients are between outpatient appointments and/or inpatient admissions.
- Demonstrates professional development and leadership.
- Demonstrates performance measurement and quality improvement.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Education/Formal Training Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree Dietetics
- Master's Degree Dietetics

Work Experience Requirements

- 1-3 years experience as a registered dietitian.

What you will do

- Accountable for day-to-day testing activities for diagnostic imaging. Plans, coordinates, and directs testing activities, ensures reliability and availability of equipment and supplies.
- Supervises the work of technologists engaged in performing diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Recommends various personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, and corrective actions. Develops and implements processes through orientation, training and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment.
- Assists with development of budgets, monitors budgets in assigned diagnostic areas, and authorizes expenditures.
- Implements and monitors quality control programs to ensure reliability of tests, proper function of equipment, and compliance with federal and regulatory standards. Prepares and maintains records and documentation.
- Plans and schedules work ensuring distribution of assignments and adequate staffing based on workload and productivity standards.
- Provides advanced problem solving, troubleshooting, technical assistance, and instruction in assigned areas.
- Responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements, inspection readiness, and procedure manual oversight.
- Performs other administrative functions in support of department operations, as assigned.
- Performs the duties of a diagnostic technologist, as needed.
