The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Keeps the dairy department well stocked and appealing at all times to meet customer demands, while achieving efficiency and productivity standards. Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer concerns promptly, in a polite and professional manner.
  • Ensures that dairy product is fresh and saleable by following rotation standards. Also ensures that product is correctly priced with proper tags or signage. Handles spoiled and damaged merchandise, or merchandise that may be getting close to expiration according to company procedures and standards.
  • Maintains condition of the sales floor, cooler and backroom.
  • Responsible for general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly.
  • May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (if properly trained training provided).
  • Helps review orders to manage inventory levels. Minimizes losses by following time and temperature guidelines. Reports damages and/or discrepancies to Dairy Leader or store management.
  • May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if over 18 years of age and properly trained. Training provided.
