Surgical Services at North Alabama Medical Center consists of 15 surgical suites, 6 Endoscopy Rooms, 6 private Pre-Admission Testing rooms, and 30 same day surgery rooms. Our surgical team consists of specially trained surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical technologists, certified nurse anesthetists and other highly trained professionals. This position is for Open Heart Surgery. The RN performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

The per diem Speech Language Therapist will be responsible for the administration and direct application of Speech-Language pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Duties include evaluating, planning, directing, and treating all patients referred to Speech-Language Pathology. Manages ICP data to include NHSN (for public reporting) and internal leadership reporting.
Perform surveillance and review/evaluate cases of infections for opportunities in patient care.
Provide data analysis of all ICP data and develop action plans to applicable leadership teams and healthcare providers.
Hand hygiene compliance surveillance and education (process improvement)
Track and monitor transmissible diseases and notify local, state, and federal authorities about reportable diseases as required.
Establish accepted standards to develop, implement, monitor, and revise infection control policies and procedures to assure compliance with the standards.
Coordinates infection control risk assessments for construction, renovation, or repairs with the project manager.

Summary:
Produces radiographic and diagnostic studies, and mammograms under the clinical direction of a Radiologist. Takes responsibility for film quality, patient care, safety, sterile technique and providing education for staff and students. Participates in other necessary activities in support of departmental operations. Must meet current MQSA (FDA) regulations for a practicing mammographer.
Responsibilities:
1. Produces routine and specialized, portable and surgical radiographs, mammograms and specialized studies to include, but not limited to: Obtains history and/or examination data and evaluates for contraindicating conditions; Reviews Radiologist's report; Administers contrasts by direct injection or IV line; Takes and monitors vital signs, and performs venipuncture; Applies shielding, supportive and immobilization devices; Adjusts and controls equipment; Reviews film for clinically acceptable results and releases patients; Prepares room by gathering and setting up equipment, supplies and contrasts.
2. Applies radiation safety guidelines and patient protection guidelines.
3. Provides emotional support, comfort, general assistance, and information to patients.
4. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care based on the age of the patients served.
5. Coordinates or collaborates with physicians and nursing staff.
6. As assigned, provides instruction in the basic theory, technical skills, and application of radiologic and mammography procedures to other employees, new employees, and students.
7. Operates and maintains radiographic/mammographic equipment, film processors, computers, and other departmental equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current dental hygienist license in Michigan and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
