Divisional Plant Engineer Job Duties & Primary Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership to multiple plant locations driving improvements in reliability, process control, and other pertinent KPI’s.
• Create necessary CAD drawings for equipment layout, process control, fabrication and assembly of components.
• Familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, and boiler systems and controls.
• Must have exceptional operational knowledge of process equipment and the ability to make logical decisions concerning the operation, maintenance and modification of process equipment with minimal supervision.
• Experience with project management and implementation from the initial planning stages to completion on time and within budget.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Contractor Specialty Representative will work with an existing Gypsum team with a focus on promoting USG Joint Compound products. This position applies extensive product, technical, and installation expertise to promote USG Systems and establish strong relationships with gypsum contractors, installers, and dealers. In addition, providing installer training, project management, jobsite assistance and collaborate effectively with USG gypsum sales team, local market representatives, and key channel customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Convert non-USG contractors by conducting job site visits and performing job site product demonstrations to communicate the benefits of USG products and services.

• Assist gypsum sales in conducting effective sales calls by performing hands-on training and demonstrations, soliciting feedback on USG products and services, and making technical or product recommendations that benefit customers and USG.

• Provide assistance to the engineering team (or individually) to move a project through the structural design phase
• Provide a complete structural calculations package for the entire design of modular units both individually and as a multi-unit complex for the state submission of each project

• Lead efforts in continuous process optimization (cycle time and uptime) of automated lines from controls perspective
• Provide electrical engineering support to maintenance and sustaining teams in troubleshooting difficult equipment (hardware associated IO) failures
• Generate, modify, and approve electrical schematics created in house or externally
• Develop maintenance documentation, training programs, and lead this training in pertaining to automation systems
• Establish test plans and control test plan execution
• Lead efforts to implement corrective actions for breakdowns and chronic equipment failure
• Assist in maintaining Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO Compliance.

Additional requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with semi-automated & automated manufacturing equipment, power & control systems and test systems for product qualification and manufacturing.
• Knowledge in High Voltage AC Power (3 phase)
• AC Control such as VFD & DC Speed Controls
• PLC operation & programming experience (Allen-Bradley & Siemens PLC)
• Hands-on experience building & debugging mechanical/electrical systems such as automation, motion control or manufacturing fixtures.
• Control & power panel designs
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
• CAD Proficiency (Solidworks preferred)
• Would prefer 1+ years of experience with process equipment development/process validation in accordance to ISO 13485 and FDA requirements
• Familiarity with machine safety applications, electrical power distribution and control panel design.
• Be competent and familiar with robot programming and/or integration with external control systems

Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or comparable degree required

Salary: $100,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience
