Ability to work in a high volume lead environment while maintaining desk and system organization. Compile and organize all client information necessary to process new business. Support new business by following up on leads in a timely manner. Inside sales specialist is responsible with quoting, binding, and issuing policies.

SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  This is an on-site, in-person position.
  • Reviews and reports monthly remittance to the Finance Department, Revenue Cycle partners, ensuring that logs are maintained and completed in a timely and organized manner.
  •  Reviews rejection of claims to determine appropriate course of action. 
  •  Acts as key liaison between Alivio and Insurance plans to understand and implement changes that affect submission of claims and timely reimbursements.

  •  Review and classify patient accounts for bad debt and other adjustment in accordance with Alivio Medical Center policy.
  •  Ensures that claims are within a maximum of 14 days following the date of service. Collaborates with internal and external partners to achieve the timely claim submission target.
  •  Develops and maintains written policies for billing procedures and daily operations of the billing department including month-end and year-end closing.
  •  Partners with external vendors to ensure timeliness and accuracy of statements sent to patients for co-pay, co-insurance, and deductibles. 
  •  Maintains comprehensive knowledge of billing for medical, behavioral health, accident/workers’ compensation, and dental visits.
  •  Reviews bulletins issued by Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance plans to understand updates in billing guidelines. Educate providers and staff on the guidance and relevant updates on billing.
  •  Analyzes current billing staff requirements and positions as they correlate with department needs.
  •  Performs month-end, and year-end close activities in the billing software to ensure accurate capture of activities within the period.

  •  Provides the relevant visit/encounter data for preparation of cost reports and Uniform Data System (UDS) reports.
  •  Meets periodically with Insurance plan representatives, Alivio staff, external partners on the state of the Revenue Cycle.
  •  Attends and participates in the Quality Assurance Committee, and Risk Management meetings and activities.
  •  Responsible for the supervision and performance management of Alivio’s billing department staff.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must possess mobility to work in an outdoor setting and drive and operate motor vehicles, mechanical equipment and machinery. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. Employees will be working around cleaning supplies, deodorization, and other products with chemical base. Required to climb ladders and work in high places. Ability to stand, walk, squat, climb, crouch, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull equipment and retrieve items and exert a moderate amount of physical effort to perform such duties. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 75 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs., to perform the functions of the job. Must be capable of working fire, smoke and/or water damage environments that have potential for mold or mildew


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working outdoors in various temperature conditions and some direct exposure to hazardous substances. Workers may be subject to uncomfortable working conditions including exposure to extreme heat or cold, dust, noise, unusual heights, confined spaces, electrical current and construction hazards. Due to the nature of the work, often the job sites will be dirty, possibly cold, or wet and sometimes unsanitary. Employees will be required to wear protective gear as necessary and most working hours. The work is sometimes strenuous. Employees must be able to follow safety precautions because working in damaged buildings leaves them vulnerable, particularly following earthquakes, for example. Disaster areas often lack resources and comfortable areas to rest. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or customers from time to time

Reporting to the Director of College & Career Persistence, the College & Career (CP) Counselor serves as a member of the College & Career Persistence Team. The CP Counselor accompanies a caseload of alumni on their unique paths to meaningful employment by supporting them in their Transition to High School, Transition to Post-Secondary, Transition to Career, and connection to Summer Programming. A successful candidate will believe in the long-term care of students and an education that forms the whole person — cura personalis in the Jesuit tradition.


Essential functions:

  • Actively support a caseload of 60 14- to 24-year old students and alumni as they chart their unique paths to meaningful employment using a curated suite of resources targeted at each transition in addition to creative problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with students, alumni, and families through consistent, persistent, and creative outreach to 100% of caseload within a 6-week cycle.
  • Conduct individual and group parent meetings to prepare 8th-grade students and families for the Transition to High School by equipping them with the tools to apply and enroll in best-fit high schools, including scholarship opportunities.
  • Visit high school students and support their transition by setting SMART goals, reviewing academic progress, identifying areas of support, and connecting them to school-based resources, extra-curricular activities and summer programming.
  • Support high school students in their transition to post-secondary programs by working with them to identify, apply, enroll, and persist in quality, affordable, and supportive four-year, two-year and certificate programs..
  • Prepare alumni in their transition to career through workforce readiness skills, resume support, interview preparation, and connections to internships and employment partnerships.
  • Provide constructive and critical feedback to all students and alumni using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
  • Assist in executing workshops and community events as it relates to each line of business.
  • Problem-solve and support in crisis management by coordinating services and removing barriers.
  • Update all data and case notes while maintaining the confidentiality of alumni in Salesforce.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner high schools and summer camps.
  • Execute other duties as assigned. This position occasionally requires non-traditional work hours to run evening or weekend events and respond to alumni needs as they arise.


The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in education, social work or non-profit including direct work with youth from disinvested communities.
  • Have a sincere commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion with a belief that all children deserve equitable access to a high-quality education.
  • Possess strong relationship-building skills including the ability to navigate challenging conversations across lines of difference and to listen sincerely and effectively.
  • Be detail oriented with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Be willing to admit a mistake, ask for help and receive feedback.
  • Actively engage in the life of the school and community.
  • Knowledge of high school and post-secondary educational systems in the Chicagoland area is preferred.
