Producer (Contract) – Vertical Series Production (New York)
Job Description
DramaBox NY is seeking Producers and production professionals to support a high-volume slate of vertical drama series for a rapidly growing global audience.
This role is hands-on across the full production lifecycle, from development through delivery, working closely with directors, production partners (including Mandarin-speaking teams), and internal stakeholders to keep multiple productions moving efficiently.
This is a contract-based role designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced production environments and enjoy working across multiple projects. Many of our strongest producers begin working with DramaBox on a contract basis before transitioning into full-time internal producer roles after demonstrating strong performance on one or more productions.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support vertical drama productions across development, pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
- Coordinate closely with directors, writers, crew, and external production vendors to ensure projects remain aligned with creative and operational goals.
- Manage production logistics including scheduling, budgeting coordination, and resource planning across productions.
- Work with external production vendors and service partners to support efficient execution of productions.
- Collaborate with internal teams across production, content, and operations to ensure smooth workflows and communication throughout the production lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks or bottlenecks during production and help implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.
- Maintain clear production standards to ensure content delivery timelines are met.
Qualifications
- Experience managing or supporting film, television, commercial, or short-form digital productions from development through final delivery.
- Strong understanding of production workflows including budgeting, scheduling, and production logistics.
- Experience coordinating with production vendors, external production partners, or end-to-end production services.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced production environments with tight timelines and multiple concurrent productions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across creative and operational stakeholders.
- New York or East Coast production experience strongly preferred.
- Experience producing vertical-format scripted series or mobile-first episodic content designed for vertical viewing is a plus, but not required.
- Directing experience or strong creative storytelling instincts is a plus.
Additional Requirement
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required, as this role works closely with Mandarin-speaking internal teams and production partners, and regularly reviews Mandarin-language materials.
