The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer-DevSecOps (Senior or Lead) to support our E7A Software Development Environments team located in Tukwila, Washington .
This team is responsible for building and maintaining multiple secure development environments that enable continuous integration and secure software development for the US Air force E-7A Rapid Prototype Program. This position will focus on developing and maintaining RKE2 and EKS backed software development tools supporting Maven Gradle and Python development pipelines in both AWS and onsite disconnected environments.
Position Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, development, testing and verification of E-7A software engineering tools
* Develop and enhance our DevSecOps operations across multiple environments
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and implement solutions for software development
* Provide end user support and troubleshooting to software development teams using program defined pipeline configurations and development environments
* Monitor and maintain software development environments and tools
* Participate in peer reviews and provide technical leadership to junior engineers
* Utilize analytical problem-solving skills to resolve issues and improve processes and tools

Conduct design assurance activities for ride project design review and testing, partnering with ride project team members.
Review ride software designs for compliance with industry and company standards.
Assess whether designs are of appropriate quality and meet project requirements.
Advise project teams on optimal ride control software designs, safety analysis methods and results, and testing approaches.
Mentor and train ride control engineers.
Prepare and present Disney requirements and design practices for internal training.
Advocate the processes, standards, and practices that produce quality designs.
Mentor and assist design engineers with technical challenges, standards, and methodology.
Mentor ride engineers in design excellence.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning
Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution
Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures
Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
Proficient in automated control software design applying functional safety concepts and standards
Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
Solid skills in technical document writing and communication
Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-month durations
Ability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, exert influence, and manage tasks and priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of amusement industry standards applicable in US, Japan, France, Hong Kong, and China

The hiring range/pay rate for Principal Ride Development Engineer is $188,400.00-$252,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary

The Tomahawk program is proliferating to include additional US and foreign customers and will remain relevant for many more years.
The successful candidate for this Software Systems Engineer position will play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software system and subsystem engineering models utilizing Catia Magic Systems of Systems Architect throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, and safety standards for the Tomahawk program, while adhering to strict government regulations. You will have the opportunity to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements and technical specifications for stakeholder use. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing system and subsystem components and functionalities for systems integrations. Additionally, you will be a system and subsystem resource to team members, who will debug and resolve issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
Position Responsibilities:
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Catia Magic Systems of Systems Architect, and Department of Defense Architecture (DoDAF).
Manage requirements, tracking, and verification for Tomahawk Mission Planning (TMP) systems change requests (CRs)
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Develop and maintain system engineering models, documentation, and brief important modifications to key stakeholders.
Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, interfaces, designs, and algorithms for TMP system
Collaborate with software development team to share expertise and knowledge
Drive TMP software architecture, design, and approach through Software system and subsystem component documentation development, selection, tailoring and deployment, tools, and metrics
Accuracy and accountability are essential. Your expectations include developing software requirement plans, providing technical solutions for a diverse range of challenges, implementing TMP and Industry standard software processes as well as collaborating with and providing guidance to less experienced team members
