- Provide individual and group therapy to ~80 students, either in response to crisis or ongoing, depending on the needΒ
- Establish partnerships with families, teachers, coaches and outside agencies to provide necessary social and emotional support to students.
- Build strong rapport and work collaboratively with teachers, coaches, support staff and administration to effectively respond to the needs of youth, including but not limited to the development of behavioral intervention plans, crisis response, case planning,Β
- Facilitate mediations, restorative circles, community-building circles and harm circles between students and also between students and staff members.Β
- Contribute to IEPs as needed
- Keep accurate and updated case notes
- Conduct functional behavioral plans in conjunction with the special education department.
- Work collaboratively with all members of the school team to address the social and emotional needs of students.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The UD Team SBYD Coach will use his/her passion and expertise in sports, health and fitness to change young lives. As a member of the UD Team Youth Development Department, Coaches will use the power of sports and physical activity to engage, educate, and energize at-risk youth. Using an SBYD framework, where life skills are taught in conjunction with sports skills, Coaches will use sports to help struggling students to re-engage in the academic community. Coaches will lead multiple sessions each day with their team during which they will teach athletic skill development, coach their teams in both inter- and intra- school competitions, all while ensuring that UD Teamβs Core Values of Teamwork, Leadership, Communication are in the forefront of each session.

- Co-teach five 55-minute classes.
- Collaborate in an Inclusive Co-Teaching (ICT) environment.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is organized and promotes student thinking, learning and independence

- Plan and implement instruction that is student centered, involves independent and cooperative learning, scaffolded, and appeals to multiple styles of learning including strategies for students with IEPs and MLLs
- Implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) that follows the gradual release model to explicitly address individual student's unique needs.
