REPORTS TO: Director of Workers' Education Program.
SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm or Evenings, Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Pay rate: $19.25 per hour
SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Teaching Assistants assist with teaching and reinforcing learning concepts in the adult education classrooms. Teaching Assistants may work in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes and/or Adult Basic Education (ABE)/High School Equivalency Test preparation (HiSET) classes. Teaching Assistants will work part-time mornings and/or evenings.
The contract period is through June 30, 2026, with possible renewal September 1, 2026, thru June 30, 2027.
EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
- Presents subject matter to adult learners, under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of methods.
- Assists adult learners, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Serves as a substitute teacher for the classroom teacher when necessary.
- Establishes positive rapport with students served.
- Identifies problems, issues, and concerns related to students
- Communicates regularly with students, teachers, advisor, and director.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates participation in professional development and shares knowledge at staff meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED or relevant experience.
OTHER: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Computer literacy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
For ESOL Teaching Assistants, the ability to speak Spanish.
For ABE Teaching Assistants, experience with high school equivalency tests and/or high school course content
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, cross cultural, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in person in the classroom and/or remotely.
- Ability to work morning or evening hours.

The College of Arts and Sciences at Creighton University is hiring a part-time Administrative Accreditation Support Staff position to initially support the Social Work accreditation process. This is a day position working primarily Monday - Friday, on campus. Some flexibility with hours to meet program peak times for productivity, and program needs due to student schedules for activities (occasional early evening).
The Support Staff will begin as an integral part of the College of Arts & Sciences accreditation process, beginning with the Social Work program, in achieving its mission through supporting the education of future social workers, connecting with alumni, and maintaining a collaborative reputation with community partners. The Social Work Program is accredited by CSWE (Council on Social Work Education), so being familiar with these standards is preferred, as well as willing to build effective processes in collaboration with faculty. • Lead merchandising strategy and direction for the Fall 2026 collection• Analyze past sales to identify winning categories, silhouettes, and price points• Build a balanced collection across dresses, suits, sportswear, and special occasion pieces• Identify strong fashion trends that translate to our core customer• Work closely with design and production to develop commercially viable styles• Edit the collection to focus on high-probability best sellers• Help create a cohesive assortment that works for wholesale retailers
Ideal Candidate
• 10+ years experience in women’s fashion merchandising• Strong understanding of the African American women's apparel market (40+)• Experience merchandising for wholesale fashion brands or specialty retailers• Proven ability to identify and develop best-selling styles• Deep knowledge of women’s fashion trends, fabrics, fit, and price positioning• Strong analytical and product development instincts• Ability to balance creativity with commercial success
Bonus Experience
• Experience with church fashion, occasion dressing, or statement fashion• Experience working with specialty store retailers across the U.S.• Experience building seasonal collections from concept through market launch
