Overview

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Vice President of Data to lead our enterprise data strategy within a healthcare environment. This role will oversee the design and delivery of a modern, secure, and scalable data ecosystem built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The VP of Data will play a critical role in enabling data-driven clinical, operational, and financial outcomes while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This leader will transform complex healthcare data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes, optimize operations, and support innovation in analytics and AI.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Data Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational and clinical objectives
• Partner with executive leadership, including clinical and operational stakeholders, to drive data-informed decision-making
• Build and lead high-performing teams across data engineering, analytics, governance, and data science

GCP Data Architecture & Engineering

• Own the architecture and evolution of the enterprise data platform leveraging GCP technologies, including:
• BigQuery
• Cloud Dataflow
• Pub/Sub
• Cloud Storage
• Lead the development of scalable batch and real-time data pipelines
• Drive modernization of legacy healthcare data systems and migration to cloud-native architectures

Data Governance, Privacy & Compliance

• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks aligned with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA
• Ensure data privacy, security, and proper handling of PHI (Protected Health Information)
• Lead initiatives around data quality, metadata management, lineage, and stewardship

Analytics, AI & Clinical Insights

• Enable self-service analytics and enterprise reporting for clinical and business users
• Drive advanced analytics, including predictive modeling, population health, and risk stratification
• Support AI/ML initiatives (e.g., clinical decision support, operational forecasting) using GCP capabilities

Business & Operational Impact

• Partner with clinical, finance, and operations teams to define KPIs and performance metrics
• Deliver insights that improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance care delivery
• Establish a data-driven culture across the organization

Minimum Qualifications Required

• 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or engineering roles, with 5+ years in executive leadership
• Proven experience in a healthcare environment (provider, payer, life sciences, or health tech)
• Deep expertise in cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of healthcare data models, EHR/EMR systems, and interoperability standards
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks in regulated environments

Qualification Preferred

• Hands-on experience with GCP tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub
• Experience working with APIs and healthcare data exchanges
• Familiarity with value-based care analytics, population health, or clinical quality reporting
• Experience building and deploying AI/ML models in healthcare contexts
