Guidance Counselor Position Overview

The Guidance Counselor will serve as a mission-aligned guide for students and families, helping them discern and prepare for post–high school pathways—college, trade, ministry, or other callings—in a manner consistent with Mount Academy’s Christian vision. This is not simply about securing admissions to prestigious institutions; it is about fostering discernment, developing vocational clarity, and equipping students to engage with the world as faithful, capable Christians. The counselor will be equally committed to serving Bruderhof and non-Bruderhof students with the same standards of care, formation, and counsel. The counselor will bring both technical expertise in admissions and financial aid, and relational wisdom and pastoral sensitivity. He or she will work closely with the current Director of Guidance in year one, assuming full leadership of the guidance function in year two.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Responsibilities

• Develop Comprehensive Guidance Program: Build a four-year framework integrating academic planning, vocational exploration, discernment, and Christian formation beginning in 9th grade.
• Support All Pathways: Provide individualized counsel for students pursuing college, trades, ministry, or other callings, ensuring every graduate has a clear and mission-aligned plan.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Scientific Computing and Data group at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai partners with scientists to accelerate scientific discovery. To achieve these aims, we support a cutting-edge high-performance computing and data ecosystem along with MD/PhD-level support for researchers. The group is composed of a high-performance computing team, the research clinical data warehouse team and a research data services team.

The Senior HPC Administrator, High Performance Computational and Data Ecosystem, is responsible for a computational and data science ecosystem for researchers at Mount Sinai. This ecosystem includes high-performance computing (HPC) systems, clinical research databases, and a software development infrastructure for local and national projects. To meet Sinai’s scientific and clinical goals, the Senior Administrator has a good technical understanding for computational, data and software development systems along with a strong focus on customer service for researchers. The HPC Senior Administrator is an expert troubleshooter and productive team member and leads projects to effective and efficient completion independently under little to no supervision. This position reports to the Director for Computational & Data Ecosystem in Scientific Computing. Specific responsibilities are listed below.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain Scientific Computing’s computational and data science ecosystem including ~30,000 cores with high bandwidth, low latency interconnects, GPUs, large shared memory nodes, databases, scientific workflows and 30+ petabytes of storage in production, clinical data warehouse and software development environment.
• Lead the troubleshooting, isolation and resolution of all technical issues including application, system, hardware, software, and network). Actively monitors the systems.
• Maintains, tunes and manages computational, data, cloud technologies and workflow systems for ISMMS researchers, scientists and their external collaborators. Defines and deploys a comprehensive computational and data vision. Identifies and communicates system advantages/disadvantages and tradeoffs.
• Designs, develops, implements system administration tasks, including hardware and software configuration, configuration management, system monitoring (including the development and maintenance of regression tests), usage reporting, system performance (file systems, scheduler, interconnect, high availability, etc.), security, networking and metrics, etc.
• Collaborates effectively with research and hospital system IT, compliance, HIPAA, security and other departments to ensure compliance with all regulations and Sinai policies.
• Participates in the integration of HPC resources with laboratory equipment such as sequencers, clinical and research data resources and systems, etc. Incorporate and link data and compute resources.
• Researches, deploys and optimizes resource management and scheduling software and policies and actively monitoring. Designs, tunes, manages and upgrades parallel file systems, storage and data-oriented resources.
• Researches, deploys and manages security infrastructure, including development of policies and procedures.
• Maintain all necessary aspects of HPC in accordance with best practices. Develops and implements backup policies.
• Prepares and manages budgets for hardware, software and maintenance. Participates in chargeback/fee recovery analysis and provides suggestions to make operations sustainable.
• Assists in developing and writing system design for research proposals. Creates and provides clear documentation.
• Works effectively and productively with other team members within the group and across Mount Sinai.
• Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
• Provides after hours support for critical system and production issues.
• Answers and resolves user tickets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or another scientific field. Master's or PhD preferred
• 8+ years (higher preferred) of progressive HPC system administration and operations (preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux administration, Batch HPC cluster environment)
• Must be an expert troubleshooter; Must be a team player and customer focused
• Experience with job scheduler such as LSF or Slurm and parallel file systems and storage

The Lead HPC Architect, Cybersecurity, High Performance Computational and Data Ecosystem, is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the cybersecurity infrastructure and technical operations of Scientific Computing’s computational and data science ecosystem. This ecosystem includes a 25,000+ core and 40+ petabyte usable high-performance computing (HPC) systems, clinical research databases, and a software development infrastructure for local and national projects. The HPC system is the fastest in the world at any academic biomedical center (Top 500 list).

To meet Sinai’s scientific and clinical goals, the Lead brings a strategic, tactical and customer-focused vision to evolve the ecosystem to be continually more resilient, secure, scalable and productive for basic and translational biomedical research. The Lead combines deep technical expertise in cybersecurity, HPC systems, storage, networking, and software infrastructure with a strong focus on service, collaboration, and strategic planning for researchers and clinicians throughout the organization and beyond. The Lead is an expert troubleshooter, productive partner and leader of projects. The lead will work with stakeholders to make sure the HPC infrastructure is in compliance with governmental funding agency requirements and to promote efficient resource utilizations for researchers

This position reports to the Director for HPC and Data Ecosystem in Scientific Computing and Data.

Key Responsibilities:

HPC Cybersecurity & System Administration:

• Design, implement, and manage all cybersecurity operations within the HPC environment, ensuring alignment with industry standards (NIST, ISO, GDPR, HIPAA, CMMC, NYC Cyber Command, etc.).
• Implement best practices for data security, including but not limited to encryption (at rest, in transit, and in use), audit logging, access control, authentication control, configuration managements, secure enclaves, and confidential computing.
• Perform full-spectrum HPC system administration: installation, monitoring, maintenance, usage reporting, troubleshooting, backup and performance tuning across HPC applications, web service, database, job scheduler, networking, storage, computes, and hardware to optimize workload efficiency.
• Lead resolution of complex cybersecurity and system issues; provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.
• Ensure that all designs and implementations meet cybersecurity, performance, scalability, and reliability goals. Ensure that the design and operation of the HPC ecosystem is productive for research.
• Lead the integration of HPC resources with laboratory equipment for data ingestion aligned with all regulatory such as genomic sequencers, microscopy, clinical system etc.
• Develop, review and maintain security policies, risk assessments, and compliance documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with institutional IT, compliance, and research teams to ensure all regulatory, Sinai Policy and operational alignment.
• Design and implement hybrid and cloud-integrated HPC solutions using on-premise and public cloud resources.
• Partner with other peers regionally, nationally and internationally to discover, propose and deploy a world-class research infrastructure for Mount Sinai.
• Stay current with emerging HPC, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies to keep the organization’s infrastructure up-to-date.
• Work collaboratively, effectively and productively with other team members within the group and across Mount Sinai.
• Provide after-hours support as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or another scientific field. Master's or PhD preferred.
• 10 years of progressive HPC system administration experience with Enterprise Linux releases including RedHat/CentOS/Rocky Systems, and batch cluster environment.
• Experience with all aspects of high-throughput HPC including schedulers (LSF or Slurm), networking (Infiniband/Gigabit Ethernet), parallel file systems and storage, configuration management systems (xCAT, Puppet and/or Ansible), etc.
• Proficient in cybersecurity processes, posture, regulations, approaches, protocols, firewalls, data protection in a regulated environment (e.g. finance, healthcare).
• In-depth knowledge HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, GDPR and related compliance standards, with prove experience building and maintaining compliant HPC system
• Experience with secure enclaves and confidential computing.
• Proven ability to provide mentorship and technical leadership to team members.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects to completion in collaborative, interdisciplinary settings with minimum guidance.
• Excellent analytical ability and troubleshooting skills.

Job Description Summary:

Position Responsibilities

• Maintains the appropriate Licensure, credentials and registrations; including but not limited to licensure as Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in the State of Florida and registration as Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Maintains expertise in medical nutrition therapy in general clinical practice.
• Performs calorie counts as requested and maintains accurate records daily of nutritional care activities, participates in patient tray assessments and meal rounds.
• Develops and implements medical nutrition care plans.
• Performs nutrition assessments and reassessments following departmental policies and procedures.
• Accurately calculates nutrient composition of enteral feedings and parenteral solutions.
• Monitors, evaluates, modifies & documents medical nutrition therapy following established policies and procedures.
• Initiates and follows up on nutrient intake analysis as needed.
• Provides counseling and education to patients and or significant others regarding medical nutrition therapy as needed.
• Develops and reviews educational materials for patients as needed.
• Precepts dietetic interns during clinical rotations: Leads clinical activities for dietetic interns to meet their education objectives, serves as a resources to dietetic interns regarding medical nutrition therapy, monitors and evaluates clinical performance of dietetic intern and reports dietetic interns' performance to Clinical Nutrition Manager.
• Communicates special needs of patients to diet office personnel through use of electronic food service system, email or discussion.
• Provides diet guidelines to Dietary Supervisors, diet clerks, and cooks.
• Voluntarily participates in community outreach programs when nutrition programs are requested.

Qualifications

• License/Registration/Certification
• Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Licensed, as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of Florida. Only those seeking to become eligible for the registration examination for dietitians for the first time, on or after January 1, 2024, are required to have completed the minimum of a graduate degree granted by a USDE accredited institution or foreign equivalent. Individuals who established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023 or those who are already registered will not be required by CDR to obtain a graduate degree.

• Education
• Master's Degree through an accredited institution by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®), from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (applicable if seeking dietitian registration for the first time).

Responsibilities

The Staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides high-quality anesthesia care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals within a teaching hospital environment. This role involves delivering anesthesia services for a diverse patient population, participating in the education of nurse anesthesia students, and contributing to a culture of clinical excellence, safety, and continuous learning.

Clinical Care Responsibilities:

• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures, in a Medically Supervised Anesthesia Care Team model
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, develop anesthesia care plans, and obtain informed consent when appropriate, in concert with the supervising Anesthesiologist
• Monitor patient status and manage physiological responses during anesthesia administration.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and manage pain control in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Respond to anesthesia-related emergencies and perform advanced airway and resuscitation management as needed

Collaboration & Professional Practice Responsibilities:

• Work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated and safe patient care
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental protocols, clinical guidelines, and quality improvement projects
• Engage in interdisciplinary rounds and case discussions, as appropriate

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing/affiliated discipline from an accredited university.
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with active NBCRNA certification.
• Current active and unencumbered APRN license in the State of Florida.
• Clinical experience as a CRNA preferred; experience in a teaching environment or high-acuity setting is advantageous.
• Active ACLS certification required.
• Proficiency in advanced anesthesia techniques for a variety of surgical specialties.
• Ability to teach, mentor, and precept students effectively.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

This executive role is responsible for supporting development and ongoing analysis of enterprise-level strategies and development opportunities that position Mount Sinai for continued growth in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. The Vice President will work collaboratively with the executive team and key stakeholders to shape and realize the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term strategic goals. The Vice President will help build and lead a high-performing team of 4-5 colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development.

Role & Responsibilities

• Work with senior leadership, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration across financial, clinical, research, education, and operational teams to identify and evaluate new strategic opportunities, emerging trends, and strategic relationships.
• Lead a team to execute a strategic planning process, including environmental scans, market analyses, competitor analysis and scenario planning to inform strategic decision-making. Promote use of market intelligence, data analytics, demand forecasting, and scenario modeling in all planning work.
• Lead analysis and presentation of recommendations to C-suite executives for key strategic initiatives, including influence on decision-making for multi-year strategic investments.
• Work with C-suite leadership to develop and refine enterprise-wide strategic plans, ensuring alignment with Mount Sinai’s mission, values, and business objectives across clinical, research and educational activities.
• Work with the appropriate stakeholders to translate system strategic priorities into actionable initiatives with measurable performance metrics.
• Serve as a thought leader and advisor to the Executive Vice President of System Development and Strategy, as well as other executive stakeholders.
• Lead preparation of executive‑level reports, board materials, and presentations summarizing strategic progress, including measurements of success/business outcomes.
• Represent Mount Sinai at an executive level for strategic discussions with external parties/partners and at industry forums

Team Leadership & Development

• Develop, manage and mentor a high-performing strategy team of 4-5 colleagues.
• Set clear objectives and expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and support ongoing professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and results-oriented team culture.

Experience & Skills Education Requirements

• At least 15 years of work experience and at least 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise strategy, strategic planning, or related fields with large, complex healthcare organizations or academic medical centers.
• Demonstrated success in leading and executing market assessments, competitive analysis, and business case development in healthcare.
• Experience working in or with academic health systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, with expertise in market assessment and data-driven decision making. Experience with analysis in the New York metro market is a plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communications, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to influence at all levels and build trusted relationships with senior executives, faculty leaders, and external partners.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Master’s degree is strongly preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related).

Reporting Structure & Location

The Vice President of Enterprise Strategy will report directly to the Executive Vice President of System Development and Strategic Initiatives. Expectations are for the role to be performed in-person, at Mount Sinai’s upper east side campus at 98th Street and Madison Avenue in New York City. • A short-term acute community hospital that is patient-care focused.
• STEMI Receiving Center and Stroke Center.
• 80-bed facility and 13-bed ICU.
• Annual volume of 55,000.
• Sub-specialty backup includes everything excluding endocrine, rheumatology, neurology, and ID.
• An average of 4 admits per day during the week and 5-8 admits per night.
• Vent management and some procedures required; on-staff intensivist.

Position Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates ability to teach and educate Respiratory and Nursing staff, patient and family according to departmental policy and procedure.
• Assures all employees maintain active licenses as required by State of Florida, as documented in each employee's file. Ensures all required education for staff is completed annually.
• Maintains competency matrixes, continuing education attendance and documentation of employee's overall attendance.
• Maintains CPR instructor certification as required to provide classes for the organization.
• Assures all clinical staff has documentation of current CPR certification as required by their position description.
• Coordinates and provides documentation of clinical evaluation of medical supplies, both consumable and capital equipment.
• Uses supplies, equipment and resources in a cost effective manner.
• Assists with proficiency testing and surveys in the Blood Gas Laboratory as needed.
• Assists with all training and competency aspects of Blood Gas Laboratory as needed.
• Assures that all employee evaluations are completed by due date.
• Provides coordination of all assigned Performance Improvement projects as required.
• Serves as Disease Management Coordinator for all Respiratory related clinical outcome activities
• Supports the day to day activities of the staff, including patient care, as needed.
• Ensures that new employees complete general and department specific orientation as specified by the hospital's policies and procedures.
• Coordinates all clinical evaluation of equipment and supplies.
• Coordinates all clinical rotations with regards to Respiratory Therapy education.
• All other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST, BLS CERTIFICATION/ INSTRUCTOR
• Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy, Bachelors preferred.
• Five years to include 3 years supervisory and 2 years of education experience.
