JOB SUMMARY:
As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of any given project. Additionally, the Project Manager ensures budget and deadlines are met and consistent with project standards.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Create a Schedule of Values for our pay applications and submit to the General Contractor.
- Analyze the construction schedule and create a schedule for submittals, material ordering and estimated field labor durations & project completion.
- Create submittals for doors, frames and hardware from architectural plans and specification.
- Manage and respond to electronic contractual changes (RFIβs, PCβs, Etc.). Quote changes that affect our material and/or labor cost. Distribute Change Order Due letters to the contractor.
- Order materials (Purchase orders) from approved submittals for timely delivery according to the construction schedule or as agreed upon with the contractor for billed and stored material.
- Support the Performance Door project field supervisor for the timely delivery of materials according to the construction schedule. Send field use drawings periodically reflecting updated schedules incorporating project revisions.
- Provide monthly pay application to the accounting department including back up documentation for stored or FSC materials.
- Actively pursue contractual βChange Ordersβ from βprice and proceedβ CO Due letters. Take an active role in collecting money.
- Approve weekly vendor invoices for payment. Check vendor costs against our purchase order.
- Other job duties and responsibilities as needed.
SUMMARY:
Experienced, qualified, and dependable Class A or B truck drivers work closely with our landscape construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting, loading, and unloading equipment, hard goods, and plant material, ensuring all deliveries are accurate, secure, and handled safely. You will perform routine safety checks on vehicles and equipment, confirm that all components are operating properly, and promptly report any issues to Summerhillβs in-house mechanic.
This position requires an efficient, accountable professional with a clean driving record. Summerhill operates a fleet of new and well-maintained trucks, primarily equipped with automatic transmissions, and takes great pride in the appearance and cleanliness of our vehicles. Driving is local and primarily within Suffolk County.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate and drive assigned delivery vehicles in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs, including air-brake systems
- Drive tractor-trailers and tag trailers as required under Class A CDL
- Ensure trailer hitches are properly and securely attached to tractor units
- Secure all cargo within trucks or trailers to prevent damage or breakage
- Assist Summerhill team members with safe and efficient loading and unloading
- Plan and follow delivery routes using GPS to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, clients, and suppliers as needed
- Possess basic written and spoken English skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and execute year-round pruning schedule designed to maintain proper structure, aesthetics, and health of the trees
- Lead all aspects of plant health care operations at all SHL farms including monitoring, treatment schedule, diagnosis of plant health issues and soil testing and management
- Maintain topiary pruning regimen for selecting trees, including pleaching, pollarding, table-top and espalier pruning techniques for selecting plant material on all Summerhill properties
- Ensure all aspects of tree pruning and plant health care operations at SHL Farms are aligned with production, sales and project needs and specifications
- Issue reports on and communicate executed work weekly to SHL Farms and Senior Management and ensure open lines of communication regarding all aspects of SHL Farms arboricultural operations are clearly and consistently communicated
- Ensure pruning conforms to all ANSI-A300 pruning standards, and established, sound arboricultural practice
- Assist with progressive development of best practices for SHL farm maintenance regimen including developing advanced techniques for plant health care, weed control, cover crops, root pruning, soil management and soil mixes for production
- Maintain ISA Certified Arborist and relevant NYSDEC Pesticide Applicators License (1A and 3A)
- Ensure all pesticide applications at SHL Farms + Summerhill Landscapes + Summerhill Estate Care are tracked and reported per NYSDEC Law

Fleet Vehicle and Equipment assistant Service Manager
The Fleet Vehicle & Equipment Assistant Service Manager is responsible for skilled field and shop diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems powering heavy-duty equipment and company vehicles. This role supports the efficient operation, safety, and longevity of trucks, construction and maintenance machinery, light and medium-duty equipment, and small engines through preventive maintenance and emergency repair work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment in both field and shop environments to ensure operational readiness through routine and emergency repairs
- Maintain vehicles and equipment to the highest performance and safety standards; coordinate, negotiate, and schedule maintenance and repair services
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections to reduce downtime, identify major repair needs, diagnose defective components, and inspect new equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance testing and troubleshooting of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems; perform body modifications and mechanical repair work as needed

This role is primarily field-based, focusing on the safety and performance of vegetation management vendors while serving as a key point of contact for customer concerns.
The successful candidate will balance independent field inspections with weekly office-based staff meetings to ensure project alignment and compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities β’ Audit vegetation management vendor field activities, including comprehensive safety checks.
β’ Assess vendor performance through regular quality checks to ensure work meets established standards.
β’ Meet with customers face-to-face in the field to address questions and resolve concerns escalated by vendors.
β’ Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures during all customer and vendor interactions.
β’ Utilize Microsoft Asset Suite and GIS tools to track project progress and manage vegetation data.

Required Skills & Experience β’ 1 to 5 years of experience in vegetation management, arboriculture, or a related field.
β’ Demonstrated safe driving record and behaviors for frequent travel throughout the service territory.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Asset Suite.
β’ Technical proficiency in GIS software for program management.
β’ Strong program management and professional writing skills.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to comfortably represent company positions to customers face-to-face.
β’ Empathetic listening skills and a learning mindset when dealing with customer property and vegetation concerns.
Preferred Skills & Experience β’ Bachelorβs degree in arboriculture, horticulture, environmental science, or landscaping.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience using CRM systems preferred or similar logging mindset.
