Shop Supervisor – Industrial Repair (1st Shift)

Sterling Engineering is hiring a Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations within a well-established industrial repair and motor refurbishment environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be working directly with technicians on the shop floor—coaching the team, driving production, and improving processes. If you enjoy being in the action, leading by example, and making an impact on operations, this is a great opportunity to step into a key leadership role.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support a team of technicians to meet daily production goals
• Schedule work, set priorities, and ensure efficient shop flow
• Train, coach, and develop team members at all experience levels
• Perform and oversee quality checks throughout the repair and refurbishment process
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment
• Partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with vendors for additional services such as testing or repairs
• Support documentation and ensure work is completed accurately and on time

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, shop, or industrial environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn motor repair processes
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and guide a team
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting

Preferred Background

• Experience in industrial repair, maintenance, or rotating equipment
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with AC/DC motors or electromechanical systems
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
