Operations Manager – Industrial Construction

Location: Springfield, MO | Travel: 20–35%

Our agency is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a confidential client in the industrial construction and food‑grade stainless steel sector. This role oversees traveling field crews, coordinates project planning, and ensures safe, efficient execution across multiple job sites. Travel is limited but required for project kickoff and key milestones, with all travel fully covered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field crews and daily operations, including scheduling, troubleshooting, and manpower allocation.
• Support estimating activities such as labor take‑offs, equipment sizing, and cost analysis.
• Participate in pre‑bid visits and provide operational support during sales processes.
• Lead tool and equipment logistics, maintenance oversight, and accountability standards.
• Enforce safety programs, review site conditions, support incident investigations, and ensure proper training.
• Develop project schedules, lift plans, job‑site layouts, QA/QC coordination, and labor breakdowns.
• Mentor field supervisors and collaborate with project managers, engineers, safety teams, and cross‑functional departments.
• Conduct site visits as needed for kickoff, completion, and critical project milestones.
• Participate in business planning, P&L job analysis, and policy enforcement.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of stainless steel fabrication or industrial construction experience, plus 3–5 years of labor management.
• Leadership/management experience required; field experience highly valued.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Strong math, communication, and technical skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings and work closely with engineering teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced environments with diverse personalities.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and navigate job‑site conditions.
