What you'll need to succeed:

  • Assisted living & independent living experience is a must-have. You'll need to hit the ground running.
  • A passion for resident and team engagement.
  • The ability to balance operational and financial responsibilities with your relationship-building skills.
  • A strong understanding of sales and business development to partner with the existing team.
  • Licensed in Virginia

Key Responsibilities

- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and modalities as prescribed by a physician
- Assess residents’ respiratory status and monitor responses to therapy
- Set up, monitor, and maintain respiratory equipment including oxygen delivery systems, ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and aerosolized medication devices
- Provide tracheostomy care and perform suctioning as indicated
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Accurately document treatments, assessments, and resident responses in the medical record
- Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory care procedures and equipment use
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in care conferences and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Current Colorado Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT) in good standing
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or post-acute setting preferred
- Experience with ventilator management and tracheostomy care strongly preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine/Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Chief of Infectious Diseases to serve as Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Infectious Diseases.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an already well established and reputable program made up of 4 stellar Infectious Diseases physicians.

The division has an Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program and is actively running clinical and basic science research with clinical researchers and active research labs.

Clinical service includes inpatient consultative service and an outpatient Infectious Diseases Clinic.

The Department of Internal Medicine is committed to the mission of the School of Medicine to assist the people of central and southern Illinois in meeting their health care needs through education, patient care, research and service to the community.
