Welding Quality Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce welding quality standards, ensuring all welded components meet or exceed engineering specifications and industry codes
• Direct inspection, testing, and verification activities to maintain the highest levels of product integrity
• Document, track, and communicate quality and safety issues, supporting vendor audits and supplier performance evaluations
• Investigate welding‑related quality concerns, implementing corrective actions and conducting thorough root‑cause analyses
• Enhance and maintain quality systems, including procedures, audits, documentation, and complaint‑handling processes
• Champion continuous improvement and 6S initiatives, driving operational excellence across welding and fabrication areas

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent hands‑on technical experience
• Quality assurance program management experience within welding operations.
• Extensive welding background is essential, including experience in welding operations, fabrication, or environments where welding is a core manufacturing process
• Strong, practical manufacturing experience, with emphasis on day‑to‑day production and real‑world welding challenges
• Experience working with government contracts and understanding compliance, documentation, and regulatory requirements
• Foundational knowledge of lean manufacturing and the role of quality assurance within lean systems
• Strong analytical and QA skills, including experience with testing methods, version control, and defect‑management best practices

Salary: $80k – $100k
