Job Description

The Quality Control (QC) Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of Purolite's products, primarily focusing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods, potentially including ion exchange resins. This role involves performing a variety of tests and analyses to ensure compliance with established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Quality Control Tests: Performing routine and non-routine tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, utilizing laboratory equipment accurately. This includes testing and analyzing resin samples according to established procedures, handling and storing them properly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Documenting and reporting test findings, maintaining meticulous records, and preparing detailed inspection reports. Evaluating data, identifying trends, and reporting deviations from standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement: Ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards. Collaborating with production and other departments to resolve quality issues and assisting in developing quality control procedures. Performing root cause analysis for defects and suggesting process enhancements. Adhering to quality standards like ISO 9001.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Maintaining and calibrating quality control equipment, ensuring a clean and organized work environment, and reporting safety issues. Complying with safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaboration and Training: Working collaboratively with production staff and potentially other teams. Training production staff on quality control procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: AAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field.
  • Experience: Experience in a quality control or manufacturing environment is often preferred (1 - 2 years) including familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and software. Experience with quality control methodologies is also beneficial.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and interpreting technical documents. Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and knowledge of ISO standards are often preferred. Basic understanding of quality control principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, are also important.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with strong organizational skills, is also required.



Wage


Compensation:

$26-28/hr


Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.


Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
