Steady is an on-demand labor marketplace connecting businesses with skilled installers and project labor across multiple U.S. markets.

We help companies access reliable labor quickly, while giving workers flexible opportunities to earn.

Today, more than 40,000 workers have signed up on the platform, and we operate across 9 markets, supporting thousands of project shifts each year across office furniture installation, commercial relocation, pallet racking, warehouse equipment, and millwork. We're focused on improving reliability, strengthening marketplace economics, and scaling into new markets.

Role Summary

This is a hands-on builder role. We're looking for someone early in their career who wants to own real systems and see their work drive immediate impact. This is not a pure strategy role — you will be expected to build, test, and improve operational systems yourself.

You will own the supply side of the marketplace, including worker acquisition, onboarding, activation, utilization, and retention. You'll also work across the business to improve how we operate, identify opportunities to increase revenue, and build systems that allow us to scale efficiently.

You will not rely on others to surface insights. You will pull data, build analyses, create workflows, and implement solutions directly.

What You Will OwnSupply Operations

• Build and improve how we recruit, onboard, and activate workers

• Reduce time from signup to first job

• Improve worker utilization and repeat engagement

• Develop simple systems to improve worker quality and reliability

Marketplace Operations

• Help balance supply and demand across markets

• Identify gaps in coverage and build solutions to address them

• Support pricing and capacity decisions through data and operational insight

Systems and Tooling

• Build and maintain workflows across tools such as HubSpot, Airtable, Zapier, Slack, and internal

systems

• Improve how data flows between systems

• Automate repetitive processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work

• Create simple, reliable systems that can scale

Data and Reporting

• Pull and analyze data directly

• Build dashboards and reports to track key metrics

• Identify trends and take action quickly

• Use data to guide decisions, not just report on them

Growth and Monetization

• Identify opportunities to increase revenue from our existing base of workers and clients

• Test new ideas quickly and scale what works

• Support account growth by improving reliability and performance

Cross-Functional Work

Sales

• Align supply with expected demand

• Help identify capacity constraints

Account Management

• Improve service reliability for key accounts

• Help resolve issues when needed

Finance

• Support forecasting and cost visibility

• Improve contribution margin through operational improvements

KPIs and Success Metrics

• Worker activation rate

• Time to first job

• Worker utilization and repeat rate

• Fill rate consistency

• Reduction in operational issues or escalations

• Contribution margin improvement

• Revenue from new initiatives

Who This Is For

This role is a strong fit for someone who:

• Has 3–7 years of experience in operations, consulting, analytics, or a high-growth environment

• Started in a structured role (consulting, analytics, etc.) and wants to move into an operating role

• Has spent time at a startup or small team building real workflows

• Is comfortable working directly in tools like HubSpot, Airtable, Zapier, Slack, or similar

• Likes solving problems, building systems, and improving how things work

• Wants to take ownership early and grow into a larger role over time

• Prefer high-level strategy without hands-on execution

• Have spent most of your time managing large teams rather than building systems yourself

• Are looking for a highly structured, well-resourced environment

• Are not comfortable working directly in data and operational tools

Experience and Skills

• 3–7 years of relevant experience

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Comfortable working with data and building basic models or analyses

• Experience with CRM systems, workflow tools, or similar platforms

• Ability to operate independently and move quickly
