Associate Attorney

A well-established Tampa-based civil litigation law firm is seeking a Personal Injury Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years' experience to join our dynamic and collaborative legal team. This is a full-time, in-office role requiring proven litigation experience, particularly in trial and mediation settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury matters from inception through resolution.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to inform case strategy.
- Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and court filings.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Represent clients at hearings, inspections, mediations, and trial.
- Actively participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
- Stay current with changes in case law, procedural rules, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure strategic alignment and case readiness.
- Maintain accurate time records and meet billable hour requirements (minimum 150 hours/month).
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active Florida Bar license in good standing.
- At least 5 years of experience practicing personal injury law.
- Must have tried a minimum of three cases.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of insurance defense case law.
- Demonstrated experience handling all phases of trial litigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable client outcomes.
