Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years work-related experience in a HW test or electrical engineering role with a minimum of 5 years management experience required.

  • Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.

  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

  • Electronics manufacturing and HW testing background highly desired

  • Ability to understand schematics

  • Contribute to development of DOE's and data gathering to resolve ongoing failure trends

  • Ability to understand test scripts and make modifications as needed,

  • Ability to solve random failures by interrogation of test logs/ software / physical measurement / visual identification, define implement and perform tester PMΒ 

  • Project management and budgeting experience

Other duties may be assigned.LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESRecruitment and Retention:Β· Recruit and interview Test Engineers and technicians.Β· Communicate criteria to recruiters for Test Engineer III position candidates.Β· Coach Test Engineers in the interviewing/hiring process.Β· Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.Employee and Team Development:Β· Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.Β· Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.Β· Coach and mentor Test Engineering staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.Performance Management:Β· Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e.

modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).Β· Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.Β· Provide feedback to Test Engineering Manager on cost and cost trends.TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESΒ· Lead the workcell team (assigned to customer) as a Lead Project Engineer.Β· Communicate all aspects of design and development to customer's engineering staff.Β· Perform duties, which involve conventional engineering practices that may include a variety of complex duties from ICT, FVT, ESS to System level test.Β· Assign Test Engineers to customer Workcells.Β· Monitor the performance of each Workcell, with regards to test, giving guidance to ensure continuous improvements.Β· Manage the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices.Β· Identify and evaluate test procedures and test equipment required to perform quality checks.Β· Manager equipment and product test performance and make recommendations for changes in the testing process.Β· Develop special test equipment and software text programs as required for the successful completion of project.Β· Develop customer setup training program for new product testing procedures.Β· Lead and implement training and assist test engineers.Β· Explore new avenues and test technologies for quality improvements on product assigned.Β· Perform detailed analysis on test quality of product assigned, identify trends and spearhead corrective actions.Β· Monitor, through assigned test engineer, all NPI activities.Β· Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.Β· Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelors of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a college or university and ten years experience.
