RESPONSIBILITIES- Fulfill customers' prescription needs while concentrating on the accuracy of every prescription filled
- Administer vaccines as needed
- Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care to customers
- Ensure pharmacies comply with all local, state and federal laws (including HIPAA)
- Maintain a professional image through personal appearance, conduct and attitude and the physical condition of the pharmacy; adhere to pharmacy standards and enforce company dress standards
- Achieve a thorough knowledge of the trade area, its customers and its competition
- Create a positive pharmacy department image through strong service, friendliness and cooperativeness with customers, associates and outside vendors
- Monitor stock replenishment, inventory levels, policies/procedures, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, proper operation of all equipment, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, reports to management, and product recalls per company policy
- Maintain proper records, inventory and security on all scheduled drugs (i.e., controlled substances-narcotics)
- Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources
- Ensure all accuracy tools, including the accuracy scanner and 24-hour post dispensing audit report, are utilized appropriately
- Establish/maintain all record keeping practices necessary for legal compliance, company policies, accounting policies and other requested reports
- Maintain a clean, neat work area, including work counters, shelves, floors and the customer counter to present a professional, sanitary, organized image to customers
- Ensure all product returns are handled in a timely fashion and per company policy
- Maintain all equipment (e.g., computers, printers, accuracy scanners and cash registers) to ensure it remains in working condition
- Maintain and organize all policy manuals, reference books, state laws and required equipment and verify that all staff is knowledgeable of their use

Minimum

Job Description Summary:
Part Time Casual, As NeededThe Surgical Technologist and/or the Certified Surgical Technologist prepares the room and gathers supplies needed for surgical procedures; delivers instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other members of the surgical team intra operatively; may function as second assistant to the surgeon; assists in the proper decontamination of the room, supplies and instruments post operatively.
Responsibilities And Duties:
40%Prepares for surgical cases by obtaining and preparing appropriate supplies, equipment and instruments, reviews surgeon's preferences to determine required items. Establishes and maintains a sterile field and presents instruments to the operating team. Delivers appropriate instruments/supplies utilizing proper principles of sterile technique. Acts as 2nd assistant to surgeon, performing duties related to draping and operative site exposure. Responsible for removal of all sharps and initials return card for verification. Can hold extremities. Assist with casting and splinting. Mixes medications on the sterile field once verification by a registered nurse has occurred. Assist with positioning, can fix specimens in formalin (annual competency required), assists circulator in proper care and handling of surgical specimens. Can wash and thaw grafts, can hold a stapler while surgeon fires it, can operate skin stapler for the purpose of wound approximation and can assist with the dislocation of joints if yearly competency is accomplished. Can cut suture material as directed by and under the supervision of a surgeon, Can apply ESU to clamps or forceps for hemostasis under the direct supervision of the surgeon, can assist anesthesia if yearly competency is accomplished, Can assist with patient skin prep if yearly competency is accomplished, Can change out camera and robotic instruments during endoscopic procedures under the direct supervision of the surgeon, Can manipulate the uterus during robotic cases under the direct supervision of the surgeon.

Equipment and Supply Maintenance: Assists in post-procedure cleaning of the OR/equipment, returns equipment/supplies to proper areas; assists in room re-stocking. May run dart/biologics for sterilizers (annual competency required), reports any damaged equipment appropriately, mops floor between cases, and ensures that all equipment cords are not frayed and free from cuts as well as other duties as assigned.

Unit Operations: Participates in unit operations to contribute to efficiency of department, effective communication, quality care, personal growth as well as development, training, and orientation of new personnel. Maintains all annual unit specific competencies, ACE and PAR requirements. Will mentor new associates. CAN DO: Can mix medications on the sterile field, following verification with an RN. Can deliver medications to the sterile field if an RN is in scrub role. Can run dart / biologics for sterilizers if annual competency has been met. Can sterilize instrumentation if annual competency has been met Can assist with positioning. Can hold extremities. Can check next case cart. Can perform room turnover and set-up for subsequent cases. Can assist with casting and splint application/removal. Can participate in verification of specimen and specimen labeling with Surgery team. Can fix specimens in formalin as long as annual competency has been met. Can wash or thaw grafts. Can assist RN circulator under direct supervision. Can hold a stapler while the surgeon fires it. Can cut suture material as directed by and under the supervision of a surgeon. Can operate the skin stapler for the
purpose of wound approximation. Can assist in the dislocation of joints as long as annual competency has been met.
CANNOT DO: Cannot inject or administer medications, dye and blood product. Cannot set up IVs. Cannot desiccate tissue. Cannot suture. Cannot tie suture. Cannot use or activate cautery. Cannot operate ESU. Cannot perform anything invasive. Cannot prep patient. Cannot access Pyxis for controlled substances. Cannot complete documentation for the legal medical record. Cannot manipulate or alter grafts. Cannot assist anesthesia with airway management and placement of invasive lines. Cannot mark surgical site.

Completion of OhioHealth OR ST Fellowship or

Must demonstrate basic critical thinking skills on their introductory team
Perform primary role independently

Complete basic skills and competencies in 2-3 service lines as delineated in the Surgery Skill Competency Checklist.
Independently scrub complex cases in 1-2 assigned service line specialties.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Graduate from an accredited (CAAHEP) surgical technologist school preferred or equivalent military training or 10+ years’ experience as a Surgical Technician. Understanding of procedure performed. Job Responsibilities: • Accurately match numbers & letters • Accurately stage and sort products for loading • Loads and unloads trailers • Opens and closes dock doors • Maintain a clean and safe work area • Sorts and places parts in racks or other designated areas • Pulling of manual dock chain • Stacks cardboard boxes and pallets • Move materials within the warehouse • Complies with all safety requirements • Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling) • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system • Quality control • Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received • Complete daily logs • Communicate with associates from other shifts • Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets • Assemble product containers and crates, using hand tools and precut lumber • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards • Uses computer to enter records • Prepares parcels for mailing • Maintains inventory records • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable) • Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment (where applicable) • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor • Sit Down Forklift preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required • Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required • Flexible to work overtime preferred • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job • Ability to work independently, customer service, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, and time management skills required • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required • Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
