Explore Your Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Oversee manufacturing activities to ensure on time shipment of all customer commitments.
  • Developing a safety-first culture through supporting daily safety audits, weekly action plan reviews and monthly safety committee meetings. Foster a culture of accountability, performance, communication and employee engagement.
  • Install LEAN concepts and foster culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of the organization. Continuously improve processes, team and systems to deliver unrivaled service to our customers and unparalleled efficiency for our team and shareholders.
  • Develop strong operating systems through a solid operating rhythm/cadence which enables continuous improvement by developing, monitoring key performance indicators for safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory and capacity and driving problem solving when appropriate.
  • Develop improved processes for incoming materials, equipment utilization, inventory management, and logistics. Work with the supply chain team to optimize inventory turns while meeting production needs, and minimizing obsolescence.
  • Serve as the primary local contact/leader for customer, vendor and Union matters related to quality, customer service, delivery, or safety. Work with HR and Union leadership to support our Union and adjust labor capacity to meet customer demand.
  • Work with corporate leadership to develop and deploy annual objectives (including the budget) and provide the team with needed support and resources. Develop an annual CAPEX budget for Operations and work with finance to manage to the budget.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure engineering designs that are easy to manufacture and reduce manufacturing labor and materials.
  • Ensure employee compliance to company policies and procedures and maintain facility security.

Show Your Expertise

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated work experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Proven experience in driving transformational change in a manufacturing facility

Education And/or Experience

  • Formal training in Lean (including Standard work, continuous flow, level loading, etc) preferred

The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases when in the Manufacturing facility, although the office environment is usually quiet and respectful. Safety glasses and other required safety protection should be worn when out in the manufacturing facility, which may vary depending on the area you are working/visiting.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:

Position Description

Job Summary:

The Plant Clerk is responsible for supporting office services and plant operations in a semi-industrial environment. This role involves processing scale tickets, maintaining sales, inventory, payroll, and production data, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Functions:

1. Committed to serve. Operate the truck scale to weigh inbound and outbound materials, ensuring accurate and timely ticketing through PII POS.

2. Results matter. Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documentation, including weigh tickets, delivery receipts, and daily production reports. Accurately enter and manage plant reporting systems, tracking daily sales, incoming materials, total production, and inventory. Manage petty cash transactions responsibly, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation in alignment with company policies.

3. Respect and engage. Interact with drivers, customers, and vendors in a professional manner, addressing inquiries, providing necessary documentation, seeking feedback, and staying informed on new developments.

4. Determined. Perform clerical duties such as accounts payable vouchering, payroll entry, mail processing, and ordering office and PPE supplies.

5. Efficiency. Record fuel deliveries and place fuel orders as needed to maintain operational continuity.

6. Communicate. Collaborate with plant supervisors, dispatchers, and sales teams to coordinate logistics, resolve discrepancies, and ensure smooth plant operations.
