Position Summary:

  • Individual has primary financial and operational responsibility for a specific division. VPRO must ensure that customers are retained, satisfied, and that their needs are fulfilled. Supervises and coordinates activities for retail operations management personnel in a specific division. Assures the highest standard of customer service by performing the following duties:
  • Responsible for communication and retention of client accounts.
  • Works collaboratively with corporate and regional leadership to ensure best in class service standards, execution, compliance, and profitability, meets or exceeds company guidelines. Must be able to carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Visits accounts and clients to maintain good relations and reacts to any comments, suggestions or concerns for the purpose of account retention; actively pursues pricing goals and ensures client locations are profitable. Individual is required to meeting with the top customers on a frequent basis to ensure there needs are being met in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supports the sales activities to include client presentations, grand opening events, trade shows, proforma development, and retail space design.
  • Coordinates with local retail management regularly to ensure installations, merchandising standards, POG’s and promotional activities are executed as prescribed per corporate directive.
  • Reviews reports daily and weekly to ensure client satisfaction, data integrity, control spoilage rates, accuracy of retail collections and control labor costs. Ensures division under their supervision controls location and warehouse waste and over/shorts in accordance with Five Star’s company standards. Ensures warehouse on hand inventory levels are maintained as per company guidelines.
  • Reviews service frequencies with subordinates to assure maximum retail sales without jeopardizing customer satisfaction; reviews with subordinates the retail service structure to improve productivity and control overtime compensation, as well as controlling employee scheduling so that employees are allowed their requested days off, and the operation has sufficient labor each day for service obligations ;when necessary, performs activities of workers supervised when needed.
  • Able to perform and understand all job duties assigned to retail distribution, maintenance and warehouse personnel in support of the total division operations. Manages all direct reports including the Director of Retail Operations, Maintenance Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, other support staff as assigned. Stays current and abides by all parts of collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
  • Schedules regular meetings with all division personnel to foster open lines of communication with direct reports, and to keep them informed and updated about current developments related to our company.
  • Promotes a safe working environment and communicates company safely policies and goals to employees; secures necessary vehicles for retail service personnel and ensures proper maintenance of fleet vehicles is correctly administered; oversees all aspects of building maintenance including repairs, housekeeping and security.
  • Ensures clean and safe work environments are in place in all areas of responsibility.
  • Individual will notify a member of Senior Management of any information that would be beneficial in account retention or jeopardize the business.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university or
  • Minimum of (5) Five year’s related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; be able to write reports and business correspondence, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Individual must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills.


Mathematical Skills:

  • Must possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Must be able to review, understand and prepare budgets, company business proformas, operating statements and other corporate financial documents.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be able to review, understand and prepare budgets, company business proformas, operating statements and other corporate financial documents.
  • Proficient or working knowledge of computer applications: Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Willing to become proficient in Vendsys, Smart HQ, ADM, Lightspeed, and any other critical system application.
  • Must be willing to travel regionally in position, travel may require overnight stays away from home.
  • Must have a great sense of urgency and follow-through to deliver best in class customer service and promotions to our clients daily with the utmost professionalism.
  • Must be creative and have the ability to handle multiple projects at once, deal with conflict and arrive at a beneficial and appropriate solution, promote a culture consistent with the stated goals, values and mission of the Company
  • Must have the ability to present information to groups of clients, employees and company leadership.

Requirements:
