About the Role

We are seeking a Jr. Category Advisor to support the Walmart business by delivering detailed analytics, category insights, and modular planning support. This role reports to the Sr. Category Advisor and plays a critical part in supporting Walmart category strategy through data analysis, reporting, and shelf optimization initiatives.

The Jr. Category Advisor will help translate complex retail data into clear insights that support category growth, improved assortment productivity, and optimized shelf space. This role works closely with internal teams and the Sr. Category Advisor to develop data-driven category stories, modular recommendations, and performance reporting that support Walmart merchant discussions.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze category performance using Walmart Scintilla, Circana/NielsenIQ, and internal data sources to identify growth opportunities and category trends.

Track and evaluate key retail metrics including:

  • Dollars per Store per Week ($/S/W)
  • Units per Store per Week (U/S/W)
  • Average Selling Price (ASP)
  • Distribution and store count
  • Weeks of Supply (WOS)
  • Item productivity and assortment contribution

Develop recurring reports and dashboards that highlight category performance, growth drivers, and competitive dynamics.

Support the Sr. Category Advisor in identifying opportunities for assortment optimization and SKU rationalization. Help translate complex data into clear visual insights that support merchant decision-making.

Assist in planogram development and modular planning using JDA / Blue Yonder Space Planning tools.

Analyze shelf productivity and item performance to identify opportunities to improve space allocation and shelf efficiency.

Prepare supporting materials and analytics for modular reviews and assortment discussions with Walmart merchants.

Monitor item productivity and recommend adjustments to maximize category sales and shelf productivity.

Support the development of data-driven category narratives that translate insights into actionable recommendations.


Assist the Sr. Category Advisor in preparing customer presentations, category reviews, and modular updates. Work closely with internal teams including sales, marketing, supply chain, and product development to align insights with broader business initiatives.


Required Skills & Competencies

Proficiency with Microsoft Business Suite is required.

Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools is a plus.

Experience with Walmart Scintilla, Circana, or NielsenIQ is strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of JDA / Blue Yonder Space Planning or other modular planning tools is preferred.

Ability to transform analytical findings into clear and compelling insights that support customer presentations and internal decision-making.

Your role within the team

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Sales, the Associate Director will serve as the primary account owner for Walmart, Inc. (Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, and eventually Walmart Canada and Mexico), overseeing customer relationships, strategic direction, and execution. This role leads a team of two, manages the full customer P&L, and is responsible for driving business growth through forecasting, analytics, and customer engagement.



Duties and responsibilities

  • Own the Walmart Inc. account, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, and associated digital accounts.
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the account, aligned with business goals.
  • Lead a team of two and serve as the primary point of contact with Walmart Inc. buyers and partners.
  • Manage full customer P&L, trade funds, and forecast accuracy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure flawless execution of customer plans.
  • Utilize Walmart systems (Retail Link, Scintilla, Seller Center, Madrid) and syndicated data (Nielsen) to drive insights and recommendations.
  • Deliver clear communication, presentations, and business updates to both internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Travel up to 25%.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of direct Walmart and/or Sam’s Club sales experience, required.
  • Based in Bentonville or ability to be present frequently.
  • Proven experience in CPG account management, including P&L and/or trade fund ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of Walmart data systems (Retail Link, Scintilla, Seller Center, Madrid) and syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • People management experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated confidence, resilience, and an ownership mindset—proactively driving results, taking accountability, and approaching challenges with a solution-oriented perspective.

The Role


We are seeking an Account Manager to manage an assigned portfolio of Walmart and Sam’s Club Omni channel customers. This role is responsible for driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and managing the full product lifecycle — from concept and item setup to replenishment, modular execution, and exit strategy.

You must be capable of managing both domestic and direct import business operations and executing across Private Label and National Brand programs from start to finish.

This position requires an expert in both Walmart and Sam’s Club with management experience.


Compensation is $80k-$140k yearly salary. Benefits include: 401K & Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Ins)

Accounts & Relationship Management
