An immediate contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a special needs caseload in a school-based setting in Warwick, RI. This position focuses on working with a high-need K-5 population, providing essential therapy services to students with moderate to severe disabilities. The role offers a structured schedule and an engaging professional environment for an 8-week assignment.
Location: Warwick, RI
Position Type: Contract (8 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 15th
Schedule: Full-time, MondayFriday, 7:45 AM 1:15 PM
Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver direct speech-language therapy services tailored to students with moderate to severe disabilities
* Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to determine student needs
* Develop, write, and update Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals aligned with evaluations
* Participate actively in IEP meetings to advocate for student progress and goals
* Collaborate closely with special education staff and families to implement effective communication strategies
* Support approximately 50 students within a special needs caseload alongside two other full-time SLPs

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

* Certification as an SLP with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
* Experience working in a school-based setting, preferably with a special education population
* Strong ability to conduct evaluations and write IEPs
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Comfort and skill in managing a caseload of varying severity levels within the K-5 age group

This role provides maternity leave coverage and additional support due to caseload demands, making it a vital position within the schools special education team.
