To meet the demand and assure quality care, ChristianaCare Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center Cecil County, located at our Riverside building seeks to hire a full time Wound Care RN. We strive for highest level of wound care outcomes, utilization of advanced wound care products, and leverage a multidisciplinary approach to care.
Our wound care center is currently seeking one full time Registered Nurse to join the team and collaborate with physicians and other members of the health care team in providing consistent quality care for patients with wounds. The successful candidates will case manage a group of patients by planning, implementing, and evaluating a plan of care working within both of our wound care centers at Riverside in Wilmington and at our Cecil Campus in Elkton, MD. The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with no weekends or holidays required at this time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care for patients in an ambulatory setting through comprehensive assessments, and assessment of diagnostic data and wound evaluations
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of common wound etiologies and wound standard of care

- Demonstrates competent utilization of interview, examination and observation techniques in obtaining patient history and wound history information
- Demonstrates competence in assessing patient and family learning needs and developing a plan to meet all areas of learning needs
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current state license in good standing
- Bachelor’s of Nursing required
- Two years experience in acute care nursing
- Experience in an ambulatory care setting
- Must be able to train at ChristianaCare Wound Care Center at Riverside for a minimum of month
- Once oriented must be willing to support cross coverage between the Wound Centers if need (emergent coverage needs only as needed)

Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications.

May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed assistive personnel that are within the job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Provides adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
