Lula Core Values
- We are customer obsessed.
- We think differently.
- We hustle.
- We finish what we start.
- We care for one another.
Lula has reached the stage where our internal technology needs a dedicated owner. Not someone to keep the lights on, but someone to build the foundation that lets every team here do their best work.
This is our first dedicated IT hire, and the scope reflects that. You’ll also be the operational owner for our security and compliance program. That means translating frameworks like SOC 2 into practical policies and controls, partnering with Engineering and Ops to implement them, and using automation and AI‑driven tooling where possible. This is an individual‑contributor role to start, with the opportunity to build and lead a small IT & Security function as Lula continues to grow.
This is an in-office role based at our Overland Park headquarters.
Business Systems Administration
Our internal tooling stack spans productivity, communication, CRM, sales enablement, and collaboration platforms. You'll own administration, configuration, integrations, and vendor relationships across all of it. You’ll also identify opportunities to automate workflows (using scripting, low‑code, or AI‑assisted integrations) so routine access changes, approvals, and audits don’t depend on manual effort. When something needs to change or improve, you're the person making it happen.
Email, Directory & Collaboration Infrastructure
You'll manage our core messaging and directory services, ensuring email is reliable, accounts are properly configured, and collaboration tools are well maintained for both in-office and remote employees. You’ll ensure configuration aligns with security best practices (DKIM/SPF/DMARC, phishing protections, data loss guardrails, retention policies) while staying usable for a high‑velocity go‑to‑market team.
Identity, Access & Employee Lifecycle
New hires are productive on day one. Departures are clean and complete. You'll own onboarding and offboarding workflows, access controls, license management, and periodic access reviews across all platforms. You’ll implement role‑based access control and periodic certification reviews, ensuring least‑privilege by default and clean access for contractors and offshore teams.
Security & Compliance
You’ll lead our SOC 2 program and be the day‑to‑day owner of our security posture. That includes owning policies and controls, partnering with our compliance platform, and making sure we continuously collect the evidence auditors and customers need. You’ll implement and monitor controls across identity, endpoints, SaaS tools, and vendors: MFA everywhere, password and device policies, SSO where feasible, endpoint protection, vulnerability and patch management, and regular access reviews. You’ll be the first line for security incidents and questions: triaging alerts from tooling, coordinating with Engineering and external partners when needed, and driving post‑incident cleanup and prevention. You’ll respond to security questionnaires from customers and partners, maintaining a standard library of responses and evidence so Sales and Customer Success can move fast.
Telephony & Communications Compliance
Our voice and SMS systems are business critical. You'll own reliability, call routing, phone number health, carrier compliance, and spam prevention. When something goes sideways, you coordinate with vendors to get it resolved.
Software Spend & Vendor Strategy
You'll track license utilization, flag tools that aren't earning their keep, evaluate new requests, and drive consolidation where it makes sense.
Must-Haves:
- 5 to 8 years in IT operations, systems administration, or business technology, ideally in environments where you wore multiple hats and owned outcomes end to end
- Proven experience administering enterprise email and collaboration platforms such as Exchange, Google Workspace, or comparable directory and messaging systems
- Strong working knowledge of SaaS administration across productivity, communication, and business tools
- Solid grasp of identity and access management, including onboarding/offboarding processes and permission structures
- Practical understanding of security fundamentals: MFA, access controls, password policies, vendor risk
- Comfortable working with non-technical stakeholders across every part of the business
- Able to assess, prioritize, and execute without a detailed playbook
- Able to write clear policies, standards, and runbooks that non‑technical teams can follow.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with SOC 2 preparation or execution (Type I or Type II)
- Hands-on experience with telephony or unified communications platforms (Dialpad, Twilio, RingCentral, or similar)
- Working knowledge of CRM or sales enablement tools
- Background supporting distributed or hybrid teams across multiple countries
- Time spent at a growth-stage company in the 50 to 300 employee range
- Familiarity with telephony compliance, including 10DLC registration, A2P messaging, or STIR/SHAKEN
- Some exposure to scripting or lightweight automation (PowerShell, Python, Zapier, or similar)
- Medical Insurance
- Dental Insurance
- Vision Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Paid Time Off
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Work Location: Overland Park, Kansas (in-office)
Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year
Supplemental pay:
- Bonus opportunity
