Full-Time Private Educator
Private Residence – Arlington, Virginia
Starting Salary: $75,000

A private family in Arlington, Virginia is seeking a full-time Private Educator to provide holistic academic, emotional, and social support for an elementary-aged child with diagnosed learning differences. The ideal candidate will develop a hands-on, project-based curriculum while fostering confidence, independence, and a love of learning in a nurturing, one-on-one homeschool setting.
This role is suited for an experienced, adaptable teaching professional who is warm, flexible, and committed to supporting a child with learning differences. The candidate must collaborate effectively with existing tutors and provide thoughtful, low-friction daily reporting. Discretion, professionalism, and a positive presence within a private household are essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop or adapt a dyslexia-friendly, hands-on, project-based curriculum for Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, and Physical Education, minimizing worksheets
- Provide one-on-one academic, emotional, and social support tailored to the child’s unique needs
- Collaborate with the existing tutor overseeing ELA and Math using the Orton-Gillingham method
- Foster confidence, independence, and curiosity through a nurturing and flexible teaching style
- Maintain daily written reports summarizing academic progress, mood, and activities
- Support enrichment activities, projects, and informal learning experiences
Qualifications
- Must have Home Schooling and Private Educating experience.
- Experienced teacher with strong classroom background, ideally in 1st or 2nd grade
- Montessori or project-based learning experience highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for children with learning differences
- Warm, nurturing, flexible, and confidence-building approach to teaching
- Ability to maintain discretion and uphold household protocols

PHI is interested in immediately hiring a top graduate to join their Private Equity Operations Team as an Operations Analyst to assist with the strategic and financial evaluation of the company. You will work directly for the CFO of PHI Oil & Gas and closely with the Q partner in charge of Private Equity who is currently the Chairman/CEO of PHI Group. This is an operationally focused role for a PE company and not a transactional private equity role.

Compensation: 25% above what you are currently making or any offer you have. $100,000 minimum. $200,000 maximum. Minimum three-year commitment needed.

Position Description:
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to the CFO for the businesses.
- Produce reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for performance improvement across the organization.
- Assist in analyzing M&A opportunities and evaluate new lines of business.
- Develop models that help with decision-making.
- Report directly to the CFO of PHI Oil & Gas and work closely with the Chairman of the Board and CEO, who is also a partner at Q Investments
Requirements:

This position serves as a key liaison among internal partners, external counsel, portfolio managers, and business counterparties. The ideal candidate brings deep transactional experience, strong commercial judgment, and a high level of ownership in managing all stages of sophisticated investment transactions from closing through payoff.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze sophisticated legal documents (e.g., note purchase agreements, indentures, limited partnership agreements, amendments, waivers) and summarize relevant key terms, identify issues, and drive resolution.
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including:
- Confidentiality agreements
- Purchase and sale agreements governing secondary trades of private placements
- Bond powers and certificates
- Side letters with fund general partners
- Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, anticipate needs, and continuously re-prioritize work in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and legal best practices; proactively identify risks and recommend process improvements.
- Demonstrate a strong "one-team" mindset by mentoring colleagues, supporting cross-training efforts, and contributing to special projects and temporary assignments as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Paralegal certification with 5+ years of investments transactional experience, gained in a law firm and/or in-house environment at a registered investment adviser, insurance company, or similar financial institution.
- Subject matter expertise in private placement bond transactions, particularly physically-certificated Section 4(a)(2) offerings, and/or private equity or alternative investments.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- NAIC requirements and risk-based capital considerations
- Federal and state securities and investment laws and regulations (e.g., Securities Act, Investment Advisers Act)
- General corporate law principles, applied in a practical, business-focused manner
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to project professionalism and independently negotiate and resolve complex issues.
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority transactions simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong aptitude for learning new technology platforms and document management systems.

- Experience with:
- NAIC ratings processes
- Cross-border tax implications and related filings
- Foreign currency swapped private placements
- Secondary trades
- Regulation U and Sections 13/16 reporting requirements

The estimated base pay range for this job is:
