Job Description:
Forward Air is seeking capable and career-oriented individuals to work in our fast-paced shipping/dock operation. Our Cargo Handlers are responsible for loading and unloading freight on our trailers in a safe and timely manner. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight is required. All necessary training and materials for this position are provided.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Responsible for the loading/unloading of 53 ft. commercial trailers and the operation of scanners
- Use handheld scanners to efficiently track and maneuver freight through our distribution network
- Accurately label boxes and prepare freight for shipment
- Safely load and unload trailers by utilizing equipment such as hand trucks/pallets jack and forklifts
- Must be able to obtain certification and safely operate forklift and other machinery as required
- Verify documentation and condition of freight to assure quality standards are achieved
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Other duties as assigned

Job Summary:
This position is based out of Tampa, FL.
The Cargo Chief Mate is primarily responsible for conducting cargo operations, oversee deck hands, perform and supervise deck maintenance duties, and stand a navigational watch (Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW). The Cargo Chief Mate reports directly to the Master for navigational duties and for maintenance and safety related duties, and additional duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs inspection, testing and maintenance of deck and cargo machinery and systems as well as all firefighting, lifesaving, navigation, and safety equipment onboard.
The Cargo Chief Mate performs Bridge Standing Orders, Logbook Maintenance, Bridge Checklists, Emergency Checklists, Emergency Drills and Exercises, Emergency Equipment Inspection, Emergency Instructions, Work-rest oversight and documentation, Crew Sign-on, Onboard Familiarization, and manage crew changes.
Obtain working knowledge of the Safety Management System and comply with all procedures outlined within as relating to the position.
Accurately report and record maintenance related activities.
Assign tasks to Mates and AB's as required
Requirements/Qualifications:
Must hold the following USCG Merchant Mariner Credential international and national endorsements capable of foreign voyages:
International STCW Endorsements: Officer In Charge of a Navigation Watch (STCW A-II/I-OINCW 500 Gross Tons or more), Able Seafarer-Deck (STCW II/5), RFPNW (STCW II/4), STCW Basic Safety Training (STCW VI/1), PSC (STCW VI/2), Vessel Security Officer (STCW VI/5), Medical First Aid Provider (STCW VI/4), and Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA).
USCG National Endorsements (Domestic): 500 GRT Oceans or 1,600 GRT Oceans or higher, Mate Pilot of Towing Oceans (Master Towing Oceans preferred), Lifeboatman, Deck Officer - Radar Observer (Unlimited), and FCC License. Tankerman PIC Barge limited to Dangerous Liquid (DL) Cargoes.
Must have current USCG/STCW medical certificate, renewed every 2 years
Must have a valid TWIC card and Passport
Education/Experience:
High School diploma
Articulated Tug/Barge experience preferred

Assistant Professor - Management (Tenure-Track)
The department of Management & Marketing of the Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth seeks an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Management to conduct innovative research within this field that is aligned with the college's mission and the department's research priorities. The appointee will also teach three sections per semester of undergraduate or courses, pursue pedagogical innovation, and engage in service activities. The Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Management is expected to publish research in well-regarded scholarly management journals. The College seeks a dynamic, imaginative illustrator, animator, artist, and educator who is passionate about student success in interdisciplinary art and design. This position emphasizes illustrated narrative and sequential visual storytelling across print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong visual art skills, be well-versed in industry trends, demonstrate expertise in professional creative work and research in a variety of contexts, and integrate traditional methods with current and emerging technologies.
The appointed individual will be responsible for teaching a variety of intermediate and advanced courses in Illustration, Animation, or Game Arts. In addition to leading undergraduate classes, the faculty member will mentor graduate students, foster independent inquiry at advanced levels, contribute to curriculum development and assessment, advise students, and engage in service at the departmental, college, and university levels, while maintaining an active creative and scholarly practice.
In a rapidly changing creative landscape, the role of the artist in shaping stories and images remains essential. We seek a colleague who inspires students to engage critically and creatively with both traditional methods and new possibilities, while modeling curiosity, adaptability, and artistic excellence.
Minimum qualifications:
- A terminal degree, such as an MFA, PhD, MDes, MS, in Illustration, Animation, Game Arts, Digital Media, Media Arts, or a closely related discipline;
- At least four years of professional creative practice and achievement or relevant college-level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Illustration and Animation/Game Arts, showing proficiency in current industry methods, technologies, and practices, and able to mentor students in developing creative skills and critical thinking.
Preferred qualifications:
- At least three years of experience teaching in Illustration at the college-level, with particular interest in illustrated narrative and sequential visual storytelling across print and digital platforms.
- Breadth of proficiency across digital tools and physical media and the ability to adapt to evolving platforms and practices.
An active record of exhibitions, scholarship, or industry collaborations; - Engagement with emerging technologies or cross-disciplinary approaches that enhance student learning;
Demonstrated commitment to mentorship, inclusivity, and community engagement.
The College of Visual and Performing Arts, with over 500 undergraduate and graduate students, is the flagship visual and performing arts college in the UMass system and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The School of Interactive Computing () at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. Applicants will be considered at all ranks.
Beyond our hiring focus areas mentioned above, the 50+ faculty members of the School of Interactive Computing also pursue research on artificial intelligence and machine learning; human-centered computing and cognitive science; information visualization and visual analytics; learning science and technology, and computing education; robotics; computational journalism; ubiquitous and wearable computing; and virtual and augmented environments. Job Summary
We seek applications in the broader areas of Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, and Social Computing.
