Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end internal business applications using Microsoft Power Apps and related technologies.

  • Partner with stakeholders and leadership across multiple departments to understand business processes, gather requirements, and translate needs into practical, scalable technical solutions.

Technical Requirements (Must Have)

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining custom, end-to-end applications using Power Apps.
  • Strong experience developing business logic and workflows using Power Automate.
  • Experience integrating multiple data sources, including Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL databases, and external APIs.
  • Ability to design secure, role-based solutions with an understanding of Power Platform governance, environments, and ALM practices.

Perform planning taking into consideration assessments of current and future power infrastructure needs.
Conducts walkouts alongside contractors to assess the accuracy and quality of completed projects.
Performs a variety of walkouts or kickoff/scope meetings to assist in route analysis, preparation of scope and/or to assist in preparation of bid documents.
Develops, reviews, or presents technical drawings and analysis
Prepares moderate to complex program/project proposals
Perform economic analysis of engineering alternatives taking into consideration costs of construction and maintenance.
Recognized as a safety champion in their work
Takes responsibility for QA/QC activities, formulates lessons learned and creates training tools.
Consults with SMEs or acts as the SME to ensure projects and/or programs meet existing and new regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on, production-facing engineering role focused on resolving complex electrical issues, improving yield and reliability, and feeding lessons learned back into design, manufacturing, and test processes.


This role is suited for an engineer who is comfortable working directly with production, test, and rework teams, taking ownership of difficult electrical issues, and driving systematic improvements rather than only supporting individual failures.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead design of test hardware, including PCB design, circuit design and FPGA programming

Basic Duties

Develop exact electrical documentation
  • Produce comprehensive wiring schematics, conduit schedules, and panel layouts in AutoCAD and Inventor for diesel and natural gas gensets, ensuring every reference, layer, and legend is unambiguous.
Engineer control panel and breaker assemblies
  • Size and specify breakers, relays, PLC/HMI hardware, and interface circuits that integrate seamlessly with low to medium-voltage paralleling switchgear and DC control systems.
Verify compliance-line-by-line
  • Audit project drawings, vendor prints, and specifications against UL, NFPA 70/110, ISO, and customer standards; log variances and close them before release.
Provide data-driven field support
  • Diagnose elusive startup, commissioning, and controls problems for technicians through root-cause-based recommendations that feed back into design libraries to improve the product.
Serve as the technical reference for customers
  • Translate application questions into concise recommendations and solutions and document in formal engineering notes.
  • Maintain production continuity
    • Follow standard protocols and proven design protocols to ensure consistent high-quality products that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Manage the submittal dossier
    • Assemble, index, and track all drawings, studies, and data sheets through the approval cycle; document every revision for full traceability.
  • Leverage Caterpillar engineering resources
    • Retrieve and interpret factory application guides, PID data, and software updates; ensure the latest revisions are embedded in each project.
  • Enable precise estimating
    • Deliver dimensioned one-lines, BOMs, and labor take-offs to the Sales team so quotes reflect real scope, margin, and risk.
  • Design for the exceptional case
    • Apply first-principles analysis to bespoke components or control sequences required by unique site conditions or regulatory environments.
  • Control the critical path
    • Use tools and milestone checklists to keep engineering actions on time, document slippage causes, and propose corrective actions proactively.
  • Adapt as requirements evolve
    • When priorities shift, re-baseline drawings, calculations, designs, and priorities so the entire team works from a single source of truth.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (preferred) - or at least ten years of hands-on experience in the engine-driven power-generation industry or a closely related technology field with design engineering experience for 5+ years.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency with Caterpillar toolsets (CAT ET, CAT Monitoring Software, SIS Web, TMI, EDDC) is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of diesel- and natural-gas generator sets is preferred; familiarity with lithium-ion energy-storage systems is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant codes and standards-NFPA 70/110, NEC, NEMA, UL, IEEE.

About the Job


BCEI operates as the primary contractor and lead designer for all construction aspects of the project. We work closely with targeted General, MEP, and Low Voltage contractors to deliver large-scale projects to our clients. The Preconstruction Manager leads the front-end planning, cost development, and technical coordination of large-scale projects in North America. This role is responsible for conceptual budgeting through GMP development, value engineering, risk analysis, and client-facing cost strategy on hyperscale and mission-critical infrastructure projects.


The ideal candidate has deep experience estimating MEP-intensive facilities, high-voltage power systems, or mission-critical environments where schedule certainty, redundancy, and scalability are paramount. Applicants with experience in these areas will be prioritized but all applicants with relevant experience will be considered. You will collaborate directly with Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and 3rd Party consultants to create defined project estimates, bid packages, and milestone schedules to ensure the successful delivery of our power generation facilities. This position will report directly to the Preconstruction Director and be based out of our Houston office with occasional travel throughout the United States.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develop detailed conceptual, schematic, and GMP level estimates.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and performance criteria for large-scale MEP systems.
  • Investigate and research new market areas to identify qualified subcontractor partners.
  • Develop detailed proposal request packages to prospective bidders.
  • Coordinate with Engineers and Construction Managers to develop project specific scopes of work.
  • Conduct and lead recurring preconstruction meetings to ensure critical milestones are being obtained.
  • Host constructability review meetings with internal and external team members throughout the design process.
  • Manage, track, and resolve all constructability issues throughout the preconstruction phase.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to successfully onboard new subcontractors.
  • Oversee the value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising project quality.
  • Evaluate and analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals for β€œbest value” recommendations to the project team.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with subcontractors and design consultants.
  • Oversee subcontractor scope review meetings with the project team.
  • Assist and aid the project scheduler with critical information to create detailed project schedules.
  • Lead full-cycle preconstruction efforts from concept through construction hand-off.


Requirements and Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Relevant Experience.
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience within MEP or General Construction.
  • Experience in Mission Critical infrastructure is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems or high-voltage distribution.
  • Foundational understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes, with the ability to interpret project plans and specifications accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • The ability to manage time wisely and oversee multiple projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Available for occasional travel.

The Digital Design EngineerΒ II is responsible for the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for Missile applications. TheΒ candidate should be experienced in all aspects of circuit card design including:

  • hardware designs with processors

  • FPGAs

  • memory

  • industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART
