Role: Law Clerk

Job Description: Nigh Goldenberg Raso & Vaughn, PLLC is currently hiring a Law Clerk for the summer and following school year. We specialize in representing people injured by defective medical devices, harmful medications, sexual assault, and environmental disasters. This is an excellent opportunity for a second-year law student who wants to learn how to manage mass tort cases, make a difference in the lives of our clients, and to get involved with common benefit work on various MDLs. Specific duties (under the supervision of an attorney) include:
- Legal research
- Draft briefs and letters to the court
- Draft letters to clients and client communications
- Work on discovery and document review
- Help the attorneys prepare for depositions
- Offer support and maintain consistent telephone and e-mail communications with clients
- Strategy meetings with attorneys and senior paralegals
- Additional projects as needed for your attorney
- Learn how to and assist with case management and workup
Compensation Details
- Full-time, hourly position for the summer, transitioning to a part-time schedule during the fall semester.
- Typical hiring rate of $25 per hour
Qualifications
- Candidates for this position must be enrolled in an accredited law school, must have completed at least one year of law school, and must have strong research and writing skills.
- Continued employment as a Law Clerk is contingent upon maintaining the enrollment and qualifications outlined above.
- We are looking for individuals who have strong academic, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Westlaw
- Experience performing legal research and analysis
- Strong computer skills
