Job Summary:

• 
  
• Follow assignments as directed by the LPN/Director of Resident Care Services/Supervisor-in-Charge (SIC) in performing assistance with resident’s activities of daily living and personal care needs.
  
• Observe residents for any change in condition and report to the Supervisor-in-Charge as well as any information a resident shares that might be significant to their overall well-being.
  
• Assist with the resident’s room cleanliness by picking up trash and/or ensuring that the room is safe to move about in. Also assist with cleaning drawers and closets and clothing that might be lying around. Report any unsafe findings to the Supervisor-in-Charge.
  
• Assist with meal time to ensure a comfortable and pleasant environment for the residents. Assist by serving trays and beverages, clearing and cleaning tables and getting residents to and from the dining room. The dining room should never be left unattended by a Nurse Aide.
  
• Perform oral hygiene, bathing, fingernail care, dressing, toileting, transferring, feeding, grooming, hair care, shaving (electric razor), etc., or assist resident in performing all activities of daily living.
  
• Make resident beds and perform scheduled bed changes as well as assist with doing resident laundry.
  
• Ensure that residents’ needs are met; supervise residents and ensure their safety.
  
• Assist with the Activities listed for the day and encourage residents to participate.
  
• Follow personal care plans for each resident, familiarize oneself with the individual’s needs and desires of the residents as well as their unique personalities in order to work toward maintaining each resident’s independence, personal dignity, and personal safety.
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the LPN/Supervisor-in-Charge/Area Director/Director of Services/Administrator in accordance with the Minimum Standards.
  
• Must be able to use equipment without jeopardizing the safety of self, others, or equipment and use supplies safely and economically.
  
• Must not leave assigned shift until relieved by oncoming person for that position.
  
• Scrubs and closed toe tennis shoes or nursing shoes are to be worn. Must be neat in appearance and demonstrate good personal hygiene.
  
• Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and community policies and procedures.
  
• Must attend in-service training, staff meetings, and complete continuing education requirements via the online computer training programs.

• Must have no findings on the State Health Care Personnel Registry of resident abuse, resident neglect, misappropriation of resident or facility property, fraud against a resident or facility or diversion of drugs belonging to a resident or facility.

The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for the development and/or review of the Accident Prevention Plan, activity hazard analysis’s, amendments to the accident prevention plan, on site safety education, toolbox safety meetings, all around safety compliance of the project, and a proactive innovative attitude towards solving difficult site-specific safety issues.

The SSHO is responsible for managing, implementing, and enforcing the project Accident Prevention Plan.

The SSHO shall provide full-time on-site safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, training, and safety enforcement.

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the project complies with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines and procedures.

You will ensure the safety of all employees, make sure all projects are up to code, and provide advice and recommendations for safety improvements.

This position is located in Grand Forks, ND on the Grand Forks AFB.

This is a full onsite position for approximately 1 1/2- 2 years.

Responsibilities: Comply, create and implement site specific Accident Prevention Plan with all occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and EM 385 1-1 Create and review Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Work Plans based upon the project schedule and definable features of work.

Ensure all safety submittals required are created, submitted and approved by the GDA well in advance of scheduled preparatory meetings.

Provide project safety orientations and briefs Document Weekly Safety Meetings, Weekly Inspections, Deficiencies and Corrective Actions, Man Hours Worked and any Incident Lead and document Near Miss and Incident Investigations performing Root Cause Analysis working with the local COR.

Description

• Assist with creating, implementing, and improving the plant's future state EHS management system. Support behavioral-based safety programs and processes.
• Incorporate new EHS regulations, directives, and standards into the plant's management systems. Conduct regular internal EHS auditing to ensure compliance, including follow-up on incident/accident investigations through the internal EHS system, corporate audit, and compliance inspection actions.
• Interact with the production and maintenance team to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Train, audit, instruct, and correct where necessary.
• Chair, conduct, and report on the actions of the Plant Safety Committee.
• Assist with preparing and executing the necessary air, water, and solid waste management activities, reporting and permit requirements.
• Assist with managing and coordinating safety training for the entire facility.
• Ensure that Federal, State, and local EHS laws, regulations, codes, and rules are followed.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, QC Laboratory, Sourcing, and Engineering to institute EHS controls and remedial measures to reduce risk due to EHS conditions, behaviors, procedures, or equipment.
• Maintain safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene programs, including PPE and ergonomic assessments that align with corporate goals and programs.
• Create ways to keep workers, contractors, and visitors safe from harm by working with peers to identify and resolve unsafe acts and conditions.
• Inspect machines for safety devices and guard compliance.
• Evaluate current and future equipment, products, facilities, or processes and those planned for future use through a Management of Change process.
• Utilize and enhance corporate programs identifying, eliminating, and mitigating hazards found on site.
• Review injury data to identify trends and implement programs and practices to address identified hazards.
• Documentation/Records Management — Capturing, storing, and maintaining information in written or electronic form as required by policy/regulations.
• Evaluate the probability and severity of accidents by completing risk assessments. Provide specialized technical advice and support on all aspects of tool design, machining, manufacturing, and estimating.
• Engage site leadership in making decisions and solving problems. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Knowledge of Six Sigma/LEAN is a plus.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental policies, regulations, programs, and procedures, including Hazardous Waste Management, Air Emissions Calculations, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: A bachelor's degree in occupational health, Safety, or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience And Training

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Equivalency may be considered with a minimum of six years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, and oral presentation skills required in English, with Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Additional certifications and training in Safety, Environmental Compliance, and related fields are highly desired.
• Prefer candidates with experience working in a Union shop environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 Management Systems
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Competence in the preparation of technical documentation
• Proven EHS background (ideally supported by environmental experience)
• Team and Relationship building
• Demonstrated ability to identify and assist with the development of others
• The ability to engage and influence leaders with appropriate business acumen is highly desired.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• CSHO, CHST, OHST, ASP, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desired
• Experience with Combustible Dust or Process Safety Management is desired
