Job Summary:

A registered professional nurse who functions under the direction of the E.D. Clinical Nurse Manager or the Assistant Nurse Manager and is responsible for shift operations which includes: lead staffing, patient flow activities and services, patient care for a department within the nursing division of WellStar. Has responsibility for implementing standards of practice, interpreting system and department policies and procedures, and ensuring quality patient care and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Is responsible for the efficiency and safety of patient flow through the Emergency Department (adult, pediatric, fast track, triage, behavioral health). Responsible for monitoring and maintaining sound financial performance, staff efficiency and productivity, materials and supplies management, patient/customer satisfaction and appropriate reporting. Responsible for coordinating department functions with the operations of other hospital departments to maximize patient flow and inter-departmental efficiency. Managing physician efficiency and flow and physician relationships. Contributes to team retention and promote and environment of trust as well as a leadership sponsor of E.D. patient throughput metrics.
Based on expanded educational knowledge, clinical expertise and experience, is responsible for the safe delivery of care that adjusts to needs of the patient while considering population, age and cultural diversity. These competent nursing care practices address the biological, developmental, psychosocial, cultural and clinical needs of the patient, family member and support system. Contributes to the vision of Emergency Services, the strategic planning process, and department goals by leading and prioritizing operations to fulfill the mission, vision and strategic goals. Is responsible for employee development as it relates to critical thinking skills interfaced with patient flow principles and patient safety with an emphasis on evidence-based practice supported by the Shared Decision Making Model.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

* Constantly rounding throughout the Emergency Department triage area, waiting rooms, and patient rooms to oversee patient flow. Serves as the liaison between Bed Management, E.D. providers, attending providers, nursing, ancillary staff, case management, environmental services, EMS, and other departments to assure timely placement to ensure efficient throughput of emergency department patients.
* Assists in organizing the work environment and patient care teams to attain maximum achievement of designated unit outcomes. Coordinates patient flow both into and out of the department
* Supervise and coordinate patient placement and patient flow through the E.D., providing clear leadership through effective prioritization, decision-making processes and communication with other healthcare disciplines
* Focused on patient throughput and patient experience. Maintains constant oversight of E.D. tracking board for all patients within the department.
* Provide regular feedback on patient throughput performance to the entire E.D. team through focused patient flow huddles, one-on-one communication, event de-briefings, and reports to various groups as requested.
* Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of healthcare delivery processes in the E.D. as it relates to patient arrival, patient care processes and Efficient patient placement
* Participates in performance improvement projects and committees
* Provide guidance and leadership recommendations or direction, as indicated by the situation, supported by evidence-based facts and data-driven decisions to achieve defined results related to patient flow.
* Assist in integrating staff engagement and performance behaviors for diverse patient population
* Assure that all decisions and actions related to patient flow follow regulatory standards, organizational and department policies and procedures
* Propose changes to policy and procedure, as indicated, to support needed practices

* Assist with departmental emergency preparedness including mitigation, preparation, response and recovery

Growing plastic surgery practice in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a superstar Patient Sales Coordinator with a strong sales background.


The practice is owned by a Harvard-trained board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has performed thousands of cosmetic surgery procedures with impressive results and focuses on providing a concierge approach to their patients.


The winning candidate must:

  • Be willing to work in a sleeves-rolled, hands-on fashion, doing "whatever it takes" to help the team grow.
  • Focus on driving sales and results, coupled with a fervent desire to implement and sustain organization and efficiency throughout the practice. This is NOT an administrative position - it is a sales position with some admin work.
  • Have a strong ability to build relationships as well as a desire to perform outreach with a positive attitude and friendly demeanor.
  • Be able to work in a beautiful office (this is not a remote position).


Responsibilities:

  • Sales -Β sell procedures, treatments and medical spa services ranging from several hundred dollars to over $30,000 to prospective patients through extensive phone conversations and live in-person consultations. 5 days per week will be focused on selling, through phone consultations, live & virtual consultations, email and phone follow-up and similar activities. 50-100+ outgoing and incoming email and phone efforts are commonplace in this role daily. Comfort with quoting and selling procedures and contacting literally hundreds of patients weekly is core to this role, as is intensive computer notation and follow-up.
  • Operations Assistance – assist in daily various duties to help the team including event planning and execution, creating and reviewing reports, preparing patients for surgery and completing appropriate steps, and more.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Organization– Task orientation, prompt completion of assignments, and an innate desire to β€œget things done” is a must. Knowledge of medical software like PatientNow or NexTech is preferred but not required.

Job Summary
Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, and provide services that include helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver and pick-up their meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction goals by making sure meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure sure their orders comply with their nutritional requirements or restrictions.
Work with the caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies and sensitivities; cultural, ethnic and religious preferences; or when a patient inquires about additional selections.
Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner. Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
Complies with regulator agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO. Adhere to facility confidentiality and the patient’s rights policy as outlined in the facility’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies and procedures.
Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations and breaking down patient tray line.
Follows facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
Assist dietitians, such as helping monitor patients who cannot eat food through their mouth, are on liquid diets or have a specific calorie count to manage.
Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures.
Performs other duties assigned.

Qualifications:
Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
Basic computer and mathematical skills.
Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Position Summary:

The Patient Experience Representative I works under close supervision to provide support to the administrative operations of a clinical service and works to ensure the best possible patient experience by effectively coordinating services to patients and families. Demonstrates interest in and ability to departmental and organizational initiatives & projects with a focus on continuous process improvement. Performs various administrative functions requiring basic knowledge of programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides positive and effective customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to routine inquiries and involving supervisors for complex issues
  • Greets, screens, directs, and registers patients; enrolls patients and caregivers in the patient portal
  • Collaborates with referring providers and practices to manage complex patient issues; may rotate in call centers
  • Schedules patient encounters and procedures under supervision; monitors daily schedules and coordinates flow to optimize patient experience
  • Prepares for and attends shift handoffs and team huddles
  • Collects patient vitals (e.g., height, weight, temperature) and completes questionnaires in EMR as needed
  • Prepares examination rooms, assists patients, and ensures routine forms are ready for appointments
  • Collects and processes patient demographics, insurance/payment, referral info, and clinical documentation; obtains authorizations and verifications
  • Collects co-payments, reconciles deposits, and provides accurate records in hospital systems
  • Transcribes treatment and billing data; communicates with other departments for clinical and administrative services
  • Answers, screens, and routes calls; triages urgent calls and initiates emergency services when required
  • Maintains calendars, schedules meetings/events, and supports logistics for departmental programs and presentations
  • Provides general clerical support, including organizing documents, processing mail, photocopying, and handling records
  • Processes prescription refills, letters, and external requests
  • Uses office and hospital systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling, billing applications) efficiently
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and supports internal changes to systems and procedures

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma/ GED
Experience:
  • No healthcare experience required - Basic customer service and computer skills.
  • Makes use of customer service knowledge to assist patients and families in resolving problems.
  • Conveys a positive demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, effective manner both orally and in writing and demonstrate empathy in difficult personal situations.
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.

PER positions are currently eligible for a Sign-on Bonus of $2,000 for full time positions (not eligible for internal candidates and not eligible for former BCH employees who worked here in the past 12 months)

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
