Registered Nurse (RN) Manager – General Surgery

Location: Evergreen Park, IL Schedule: Full‑time, Days (Mon–Fri, 6:30a–2:30p) On‑Call: 24/7 response required for emergent departmental needs, including weekends & holidays Sign‑On Bonus: $20,000 Compensation: $58.61–$68.95/hour (Salaried; based on experience, skills, and internal equity)

Overview

A leading healthcare system in the Evergreen Park area is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Manager to oversee operations within its General Surgery department. This leader will ensure high‑quality patient care, operational excellence, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

This role is ideal for an RN with strong OR experience who thrives in a fast‑paced surgical environment and is ready to step into a key leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of the General Surgery department, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care
- Plan, schedule, and evaluate departmental workflows and staffing
- Lead and support clinical teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage departmental budgets, capital resources, and productivity targets
- Assist in developing and implementing new services aligned with annual business plans
- Provide 24/7 on‑call leadership support for emergent needs

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible clinical or healthcare leadership experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team‑building skills
- Operating Room (OR) experience required, both SCRUB and CIRCULATE required
