Project Manager / Director (QSR Focused)
Job Description
KRG is a custom millwork and display manufacturer seeking a highly experienced Project Manager / Director to lead the execution of national quick-serve restaurant (QSR) and food service programs, with a specialization in architectural millwork, custom fixtures, and branded environments.
This role is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of QSR and food service millwork programs, serving as a highly responsive, customer-focused partner from initial planning through engineering, production, logistics, installation, and final execution. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in the millwork industry, along with the ability to work directly with customers, franchise groups, design teams, and internal stakeholders to understand their goals, initiatives, and operational priorities with minimal oversight.
This individual must be capable of independently driving projects forward, aligning client expectations with internal execution, proactively identifying solutions, and ensuring each program is delivered with urgency, accuracy, quality, and a high level of service. Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who builds trust, communicates clearly, anticipates challenges before they arise, and consistently represents the customer’s interests while balancing schedule, budget, brand standards, and overall project success.
Candidates must be highly detail-oriented, organized, and effective communicators. Responsibilities include full project coordination, order fulfillment, store take-offs, production entry, and all tasks required to successfully service assigned accounts. A solid understanding of the millwork industry, manufacturing processes, and the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings is required. Candidates must demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and have experience working within ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of Autocad or Inventor software is a considered plus
This position requires complete ownership of programs from inception through completion. Responsibilities include active participation in the quoting process, translating customer concepts into actionable direction for design and engineering teams, tracking projects throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, managing inventory, coordinating logistics and installation, and generating reports as needed. The role is accountable for managing all aspects of project scope to achieve schedule, budget, and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive this division independently with manufacturing support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, general contractors, and internal teams
- Manage full project lifecycle including estimating support, engineering coordination, procurement, production, logistics, and installation
- Track performance metrics and KPI’s utilizing internal data
- Develop and maintain project schedules, sales pipeline, critical path & milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time execution
- Oversee execution of custom millwork and fixture packages, ensuring alignment with design intent, AWI standards where applicable, and brand specifications
- Review shop drawings, materials, and finishes; drive value engineering and manufacturability improvements in collaboration with internal teams
- Build strong client relationships and lead regular project updates, meetings, and executive reporting
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget expectations, including change orders and risk mitigation
- Coordinate with supply chain and production teams on sourcing strategies and forecasting to align with current and future demands
- Identify and mitigate risks related to lead times, logistics, tariffs, and material availability
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, profitability, and track cost performance and margin
- Review and approve vendor and subcontractor scopes, pricing, and invoices
- Coordinate installation teams and field execution to ensure site readiness, schedule adherence, and quality delivery
- Oversee issue resolution, punch list completion, and project closeout
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and communication processes
- Lead by example in following business processes while proactively contributing to and advancing continuous improvement efforts across the organization
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in similar industry or construction and/or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reviewing construction and architectural drawings
- Strong communication skills
- Regional travel as needed
