In partnership with AMN Healthcare, Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University invite applications for a highly accomplished physician-investigator to serve as the Genitourinary Multidisciplinary Team Leader & Medical Director of the Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of GU cancer care and research at an independent NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center that is part of McLaren Health Care, anchoring Michigan's largest cancer research/care network, and home to one of the nation's most expansive clinical trials program.

The Opportunity

The Genitourinary (GU) Oncology program at Karmanos Cancer Institute has been considered a strength for many years; the GU team was the first Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) formed at Karmanos and serves as a model to the other disease site teams. Under the previous leader, Karmanos Cancer Institute partnered with University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center and successfully obtained a Prostate SPORE in 2019 which was funded through 2024. Due to non-overlapping patient populations, future collaboration opportunities exist.

Reporting to the CEO of Karmanos Cancer Institute, the GU Multidisciplinary Team Leader will lead a multidisciplinary team of 16 physician faculty and will also serve as a member of senior leadership committees, including the Scientific Leadership Council, where they will represent the Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence, Medical Executive Committee and the Clinical Leadership Council. Faculty appointments are awarded through Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Additionally, as Medical Director of the Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence, this leader will set the strategic direction for the prostate cancer research program, guide the design and execution of research initiatives, strengthen integration between basic and clinical science, and oversee a comprehensive and growing clinical trial portfolio The KCI catchment area encompasses 6.7 million residents, with a richly diverse population across ethnic and socioeconomic lines-providing a unique environment for advancing health disparities research and more.

The Ideal Candidate

The GU MDT Leader should have experience developing and leading high-functioning multidisciplinary teams within a cancer center as well as experience leading an externally funded program of research supported by NIH, industry, foundation, or other sources. Requirements include an MD, DO, or equivalent terminal medical degree as well as current certification in any of the oncology specialties.

The Organization

As part of McLaren Health Care, the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute remains Michigan's only hospital dedicated exclusively to fighting cancer and is the largest cancer research and provider network in Michigan. Karmanos is one of 57 National Cancer Institute (NCI) Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, with one of the largest clinical trials programs in the United States, including a robust Phase 1 Clinical Trials Program housed at the Eisenberg Center for Translational Therapeutics, the only program of its kind in Michigan. Through 17 network sites, Karmanos reaches patients in 47 counties in Michigan and northern Ohio, including urban, suburban and rural populations.

Delta Defense is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to shape the end-to-end advisor experience within our contact center. This role sits at the intersection of operations, process design, and strategyβ€”ensuring that workflows, systems, policies, and expectations align to create a frictionless and scalable service model.

You will act as both an architect and hands-on change agent: designing future-state workflows while rolling up your sleeves to implement and manage improvements. This role will focus on defining how work should flow, translating operational needs into structured requirements, and ensuring technology enables β€” rather than complicates β€” the advisor experience. This is a high-impact role that directly influences advisor productivity, service quality, retention, and overall contact center performance.

The right candidate will serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership while driving tangible operational improvements across the entire contact center. This is a great fit if you’re energized by digging into root causes, using data and frontline feedback to prioritize the right opportunities, and can lead sustainable change from pilot through adoption.

Service Design Lead - What you’ll do:
  • Redesign and optimize end-to-end advisor workflows.
  • Identify friction and implement measurable improvements.

Service Design Lead - What you’ll bring:
  • Contact center operational experience.
  • Proven success in process redesign and measurable, continuous improvement.

  • Comfort operating in both execution-heavy and strategy-focused environments.
Required Education and Experience:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in contact center operations, service design, operational excellence, or process improvement roles.
  • Deep understanding of contact center environments and advisor workflows.
  • Demonstrated success redesigning processes with measurable operational impact.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with IT or system teams to align technology with business requirements.
  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to manage initiatives end-to-end.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into structured operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence leadership and frontline teams.
  • Experience operating in environments that balance tactical execution and strategic planning.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Target salary range $76,000 - $95,000 based on experience. This role is also bonus-eligible for company incentive plan. The role is based at our beautiful headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin, and allows for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. This recognition has been accomplished by less than nine percent of hospitals nationwide. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital in the St. Louis metro area.

Role Purpose

The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care after completing a nursing program and before licensure. Will be required to obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a HSO in the state of Missouri.

Responsibilities
  • Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Uses critical thinking skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Evaluates patient's response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patient's stay.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
