Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Trade/vocational school graduate or equivalent with courses in chemistry physics and/or mathematics and such training as to be able to read: layout diagrams blueprints mechanical drawings work sketches etc. preferred

Experience

  • completion of an approved apprentice training program required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must have a current D.C. Third Class Operating License required and

Sigma Technologies has multiple Designer positions available that REQUIRE Outside Plant Fiber Design and/or Drafting Experience. For this role, we are providing FTTH, Joint Use and general OSP Overhead Fiber design services to power utility companies. Position Description:

Designers perform outside plant overhead fiber design for telecommunications companies. Designers should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in overhead fiber design and will rely on standards, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The Designer is expected to apply experience and knowledge to provide solutions when guidelines will not meet expected outcomes and be able to recommend new and/or improvements to documentation where needed.

  • Become a subject-matter-expert in copper sulfide pressure leaching and build a team with a strong understanding of the technology and its potential future benefits.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree (preferred in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering) and 10 years of metallurgical plant operational experience, including supervisory or management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of copper smelting, hydrometallurgical and leaching operations, including the thermodynamic and kinetic principles that are the foundation of these technologies.
  • Knowledge of mining and mineral processing technology, specifically the impacts of copper, iron, and gangue mineralogy on processing operations.
  • Leadership skills, including supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees.

About the Role:


The Plant General Manager (GM) holds full responsibility for all plant operations and support functions, ensuring the delivery of safe, healthy, cost-competitive, and high-quality seafood to our consumers and customers. This role is accountable for achieving the plant operations budget, including CapEx and COGS, while driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, environmental performance, and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives. The GM also plays a critical role in maintaining transparency and alignment with Regional (COSI / Pittsburgh) and Global (TU / Bangkok) teams, and in leading strategic initiatives that improve processes, develop people, and enhance performance.


With direct oversight of cross-functional leaders, including Production, Planning/Materials, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, IT/Digital, SHE, and Quality, the GM ensures effective collaboration across internal functions such as Corporate Supply Planning & Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, QA, Legal, HR, and Communications, as well as with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies. This role serves as the operational voice of the plant and communicates results, risks, and strategic priorities to the broader Ambient BU.

Key Responsibilities:


Operational Leadership:


  • Direct end-to-end manufacturing operations, including production, materials, labor, quality, and capital needs.
  • Evaluate and enhance plant efficiency and day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements in safety, quality, and cost.
  • Ensure plant performance is transparent and aligned with Regional and Global leadership expectations.


Strategic Planning & Execution:


  • Develop and execute plans to meet critical business objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting, expenditure approval, financial variance analysis, and gap-closing action plans.
  • Lead the plant’s contribution to continuous improvement and world-class operational performance.


People Leadership:


  • Set hiring, performance, and development expectations for all plant departments.
  • Provide training and corrective action plans to improve competency (knowledge, skills, and attitudes).
  • Promote employee engagement, diversity, and development across all levels.
  • Maintain positive labor relations and support leadership growth aligned with company values.


Compliance & Safety:


  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, BRC).
  • Review audit results and implement corrective actions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and safety excellence.


Stakeholder Management:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with plant personnel, regulatory bodies, local suppliers, vendors, and community leaders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, HR, and Global/Regional Operations teams.
  • Ensures effective collaboration across internal functions such as Corporate Supply Planning & Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, QA, Legal, HR, and Communications, as well as with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.



Qualification:


Required:


  • 7–10 years of experience in food production
  • Over 5 years of senior plant management and leadership experience
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Business, or Food Science
  • Strong understanding of plant management and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proven experience in leadership, goal setting, action planning, performance appraisal, and driving results
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while executing tactically


Preferred:


  • Experience with BRC or SQF quality systems
  • Background in TPM, Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance
  • Experience with canning, seaming, retort/sterilization, packaging, or ready-to-eat food production


Physical Demands


While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, communicate, usually through talking, hearing, writing and typing. Employees should be able to operate standard office equipment, i.e., telephones, computers, facsimile and copier. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, and move or lift to 35 lbs. The employee regularly works in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with a moderate degree of noise.

Position Description

Job Summary:

The Yard Person/Plant Operator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the quarry and HMA plants and assisting in the efficient operation of the plant. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and productive working environment while adhering to company policies and industry standards.


Essential Functions:

1. Results matter. Safely load, unload, stockpile, and organize materials using loaders, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to support efficient plant operations.

2. Dedication. Operate and monitor quarry processing equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and screens, ensuring compliance with company standards and optimal production.

3. Committed to serve. Inspect and perform routine maintenance on equipment, addressing repairs or adjustments as needed to minimize downtime.

4. Determined. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard, plant, and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

5. Focused. Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors.

6. Protect family and friends. Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations, contributing to a safe and compliant work environment.

7. Respect and engage. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals, deadlines, and customer material quality specifications.

8. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members while supporting shipping, receiving, and general operational needs.


Position Requirements

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Prior experience in a quarry or asphalt plant is preferred.

3. Electrical and Stick/Mig Welding/Fabrication required.

4. Strong communication skills (both verbally and written), and the ability to work well in a team.

5. Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

6. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

7. Must have a valid driver's license

8. Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
