The Opportunity:

Orlando Health announces an exceptional opportunity for an exemplary leader to serve as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Assistant Vice President, Orlando Health. The healthcare system is recognized around the world for Central Florida's only pediatric and adult level I trauma program and the home to the nation's largest neonatal intensive care unit. For fifteen consecutive years, UNSWR has ranked OHAPH on its Best Children's Hospital list in multiple pediatric specialties.

Reporting to Justin Williams, President OHAPH, the next CNO will serve as the Chief Nurse Executive and a member of the executive leadership team for OHAPH. The CNO providers leadership and coordinates activities, processes, and policies resulting in high quality patient care driven by system-wide nursing practices and standards. Works closely with the Vice President of Nursing for Orlando Health to provide leadership and direction in accord with the organization's mission and values and nursing's core mission, vision and values. Direct reports will include the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), Director of Care Management, Manager APH Care Management, Manager Learning Specialists Care Team, and Administrative Supervisors.

The CNO will create a dynamic, compelling vision and strategic roadmap for nursing. The Chief Nurse will foster an environment of nursing empowerment, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge, innovation, continuous improvement and empirical outcomes. The CNO will serve as a member of the executive team and participate in determining the future direction of the organization and developing a vision and strategy to support long-term success. They will work with the executive team to achieve operating and financial outcomes and contribute to the achievement of the organization's goals.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in leadership, including experience in leading patient care providers, creating a vision for patient care and being an advocate for caregivers while achieving organizational goals.
* A Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a Master's Degree in Nursing and/or business or related field required.
* The successful candidate must possess experience in quality management, medical management, administration, operational finance and leadership.
* Maintains current RN licensure in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain.
* Leadership experience in a pediatric setting is required.

The Position

Reporting dually to Dr. James Craven, Chief Physician Executive, FMOL Health and Susan Foret, Vice President of Operations for Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute, this is a key strategic leadership position offering a balance of clinical practice and administrative leadership. The incoming Chief will also serve as a visible leader within the organization, building collaboration across specialties, fostering research and quality initiatives, and strengthening relationships with referring providers and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide vision and leadership for the oncology service line.
- Lead a team of 12 oncologists (9 solid tumor, 3 heme malignancy) and 3+ APPs.
- Develop and oversee clinical programs, operational excellence, and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, and the system leadership team.
- Drive integration with referring physicians and outreach sites across the Baton Rouge region.
- Continue to grow the research portfolio; support ongoing and new clinical trials.
- Participate in system-level oncology leadership, working closely with Dr. Lyons (surgical lead) and Dr. Craven (system-level Chief Physician Executive).

The Ideal Candidate:

- A master's degree with clinical major required.
- Current registration with the New York State Education Department as a Registered Professional Nurse or ability to quickly obtain will be required.

Compensation Range: The base salary range for this position is $275,000 to $300,000 annually.   • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team consisting of Maternal Fetal Medicine and OB Medicine (located at the same ambulatory site)

  • A supportive leadership and administrative team including a dedicated MA, surgical coordinator and onsite behavioral health support

  • 4-day work week (weekends excluded)
