MetroHealth’s Department of Dermatology includes a dedicated team of physicians and advanced practice providers serving the needs of our community to the tune of nearly 40,000 annual visits. The department delivers high-quality, accessible care across 6 clinical sites across Cuyahoga County, including Brecksville, Parma, Middleburg Heights, Westlake, Beachwood, and main campus. The faculty includes an exceptional mix of early-, mid-, and senior-career physicians.
The department supports a highly regarded Dermatology Residency Program (established in 2009), with plans to expand to 3 residents per year (9 total). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The new Chair will provide leadership for the Department of Dermatology and its clinical, teaching and research projects. In this context, the Chair reports to the Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive and Clinical Officer and is also accountable to the Executive Vice President, Chief Academic Officer.
The successful candidate will be charged with leading the Department of Dermatology with excellence in patient care, education, research, and advocacy. The Chair will be responsible for providing academic leadership for the faculty, residents, medical students and staff in the Department and for providing administrative support to ensure fulfillment of MetroHealth’s mission of serving patients regardless of their financial status, educating learners at all levels of medical education, and promoting innovative research. The Chair will be expected to be actively engaged in scholarly and educational activities under the auspices of an appointment at CWRU.
The Chair of Dermatology will also be responsible for building upon the many key educational and investigative relationships between and among CWRU and regional affiliates. The Chair will champion and promote as well as sponsor faculty development while leveraging the existing strengths of an already strong Department.

About the Role:

In addition, the physician receives 5% for signing off on Aestheticians’ charts. Practice physicians have earned in excess of $90,000 annually from this incentive stream.

Princeton Dermatology Associates, is a large general and surgical dermatology practice, with five (5) Central NJ locations in Princeton, Plainsboro, North Brunswick, Monroe Township, and Hillsborough (all between 4-12 miles from our Princeton headquarters). All offices are located within very attractive suburban settings at some of the most desirable communities in the US, with excellent school systems, great universities (such as Princeton University and Rutgers), and wide availability of highly diverse educational, cultural and entertainment opportunities. All offices are approximately an hour’s drive from New York City, Philadelphia, the NJ shore and/or the Poconos.

Physicians who are already licensed and credentialed in New Jersey are especially welcomed. Guaranteed Base Salary- Year 1 & 2

Production Incentive
~50% on net collections after 2.25x base salary. The net annual collections of current full time general dermatology providers range between $1,000,000 and $2.5 million.
~ Princeton Dermatology Associates is a member of a Clinically Integrated Network of New Jersey Providers. As a result, our commercial insurance rates are over 20% higher than standard insurance reimbursement rates.

Partnership
~2-year track- If the physician candidate wishes to become a partner, after the initial waiting period, and the practice agrees, the physician is invited to buy into the practice’s Assets (at a nominal value) and the practice’s Goodwill (the rest of the purchase price). As soon as the Physician buys a % of the Assets, they gain control of the corresponding % of company shares and profits, which they can use to increase their compensation plus purchase the goodwill with the practice’s money. If and when, the Physician leaves or retires, they can sell their shares back to the practice under the same exact formula they bought in.
Extra Incentives
~ The physician may earn additional compensation for supervising Pas, or ANPs, or Aestheticians. The physician IS NOT obligated to supervise anybody unless they so choose. In terms of incentive compensation, the physician receives 10% of all midlevel production they sign off for in year 1 if the midlevel is new to dermatology.
