About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

In addition to the main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, ECE also has permanent operations at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in France and Georgia Tech-Shenzhen in China. Graduate students who spend at least one semester each at three Georgia Tech locations (Atlanta, Lorraine, and Shenzhen on three continents (North America, Europe, and Asia) can earn the Georgia Tech Global Engineering Immersion Program (GEIP) Certificate when they receive the Georgia Tech M.S. degree.

Atlanta, GA

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Heterogeneous Integration and Advanced Packaging (HI/AP). The School is interested in HI/AP topics including, but not limited to: bonding technologies for 3DHI, co-packaged photonics, 2.5D/3D HI technologies, advanced materials for HI/AP, system co-design and optimization, glass-core packaging technologies, and advanced assembly and interconnect technologies. Focus on system level demonstrations using HI/AP and circuit/system co-design are relevant.

The School seeks individuals with outstanding potential for research achievement, and a strong aptitude and interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as interest and experience in translating their research to commercial applications. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent. The candidate will also be associated with the Georgia Tech Packaging Research Center, which is a multidisciplinary research center with strong industry and government support devoted to heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging.

The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Act as the primary administrative support for a school Chair providing office related services including correspondence and report preparation, maintaining files, meeting arrangements and related functions. May be responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Chair and Associate Chairs, Dean, School faculty members and staff, students and visitors. This position typically will advise and counsel.

• Plan and coordinate departmental events, including travel arrangements, venue reservations, catering, and equipment needs for both on- and off-campus functions.
• Support faculty recruitment by initiating the interview process and serving as the primary point of contact for candidates.

• Interpret and communicate administrative policies; develop and refine internal procedures in alignment with institute guidelines.

Educational Requirements

We are interested in candidates whose research can complement and extend applied psychological science (i.e., I-O and Engineering Psychology). About the Scool of Computing Instruction at the Georgia Institute of Technology

With more students graduating with a Computer Science degree than any other major at Georgia Tech and the Institute's requirement that every student complete at least one programming course, quality instruction on the foundations of computing has never been more important. The School of Computing Instruction (SCI) was created to serve these critical needs within Georgia Tech and beyond. Our award-winning teaching-focused faculty have three core missions:

Platform for Creativity and Innovation. SCI's creative faculty boldly experiment with new ideas and approaches to pedagogy, while continually re-examining proven methods to ensure their approach is effective and practical across a different set of courses and students. Scalability of Computing Instruction. SCI's faculty design and serve as primary instructors for the College's array of introductory computer science courses, direct the junior design/capstone program for our undergraduate computing majors, and teach a selection of upper-division and graduate level courses that reflect our faculty's varied interests. The School of Computing Instruction (SCI) at Georgia Institute of Technology within the College of Computing was recently founded to recognize the significant contributions of CS teaching-track faculty. We invite applications for multiple full-time and long-term faculty positions. The official appointment of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will be made depending on past teaching experience. Both positions are offered with renewable contracts with an expectation to start in Jan 2025 on Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta campus. Summer teaching for additional compensation is typically available. In addition, SCI faculty are typically allowed to teach at one of Georgia Tech's multiple study-abroad campuses (Berlin, Barcelona, Metz, etc.) during the summer.

The top candidates will be invited to Atlanta for an on-site interview, which involves giving a sample lecture.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to providing high-quality undergraduate teaching. Trinity targets earth-skimming tau neutrinos above ~1 PeV through imaging of upward-going air showers near the horizon. The first phase of the project, the Trinity Demonstrator, is ongoing and has been in its physics data-taking phase for over a year, providing a timely opportunity to lead analyses while helping define the next stage of the experiment.

The Haider Lab in the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Georgia Tech & Emory University seeks a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral fellow to undertake NIH funded projects examining synaptic and network mechanisms supporting sensory perception and visual attention.

The projects offer significant opportunity to learn cutting-edge research techniques in vivo with transgenic mice performing quantitative visual behavioral tasks.

The specific job duties undertaken include the following: 1) neural population recording with high-density silicon electrodes (Neuropixels), 2) optogenetic circuit manipulation, 3) training transgenic mice on quantitative visual spatial detection behaviors 4) high dimensional neural data signal processing and analysis.

Candidates should have completed a PhD in Bio-Engineering or related area

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• The ideal candidate has expertise in patch clamp / multi-electrode electrophysiology in vitro or in vivo, experience with neural or behavioral data analysis related to visual neuroscience, and quantitative skill in data acquisition and analysis (preferably with MATLAB). Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an inquisitive mindset, and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

• Significant experience in electrophysiology, visual neuroscience, neural data analysis.
• Proven ability to execute projects using the above skillsets in high-quality publications.
• Knowledge of optogenetics, optical imaging.

The Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity (LSI) is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine. Founded in 2014 by Director Dr. Gabe Kwong, the mission of LSI is to pioneer the next wave of immunotherapies and diagnostics to intercept diseases at an early stage and develop treatments that drive deep responses to meaningfully improve patient outcomes.

We are currently seeking exceptional individuals to join our research group as a Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will be a motivated and creative individual that will pioneer new categories of immune biosensors that leverage design principles from synthetic biology and cell engineering for early cancer detection. About the School of Biological Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology

Undergraduate degree programs include 4-year BS and 5-year BS/MS programs in Biology and Bioinformatics. Graduate degree programs include: MS and PhD in Biology, MS and PhD in Bioinformatics, MS and PhD in Computational Science and Engineering as well as PhD in Quantitative Biosciences, Ocean Sciences and Engineering, Applied Physiology, and Dual Degree Doctor of Physical Therapy/ Doctor of Philosophy. Atlanta, GA

The Spatial Ecology & Paleontology Lab at Georgia Tech would like to invite applicants for a postdoctoral position. We are seeking a new member of our research community to be jointly supervised by Jenny McGuire (Georgia Tech) and Michelle Lawing (Texas A&M). This postdoctoral research associate would join a vibrant team of international researchers investigating global change ecology.

The position is for one year with the opportunity to extend for an additional year (currently two years of funding in total) and several options for further expansion on upcoming grant submissions.

Depending on the postdocs expertise and interests, tasks will include a combination of the following:

1. Computational analysis to evaluate the climate tracking and climate fidelity of mammal and plant taxa.
2. Mentorship and research facilitation of graduate students examining the effects of arid conditions various aspects of taxonomic variety of fossils from Natural Trap Cave, Wyoming.
3. Participation in a large international collaboration examining trait-environment relationships.
4. Participation in grant writing and collaborative papers. It is our utmost priority to ensure that postdocs in the lab take on projects that will allow them to achieve scientific visibility that will make them as competitive as possible in this difficult job market.

An earned doctorate in PhD is required by the start of the appointment.

The ideal candidate would have strong interpersonal, R programming, spatial analysis, database analysis, and paleontological skills. Adequate knowledge of skeletal morphology of mammals or reptiles would benefit the candidate.
