What Were Looking For: Full-time Board Eligible / Board Certified Gastroenterologist to join a busy, established practice in Michigan City, IN , with 5 experienced physicians and multiple advanced practice providers.
Ideal for someone who wants a high-volume, team-based GI practice with strong support and growth potential.
What You Need: MD/DO and completion of Gastroenterology fellowship Board Eligible / Board Certified in Gastroenterology ERCP experience required; interest in Hepatology preferred Active or eligible Indiana medical license Strong communication skills and commitment to patient satisfaction Desire to build long-term patient and community relationships Schedule & Practice Details (Condensed): Office: Monday"Friday, 8:00 a.m."4:30 p.m.
Mix of clinic and procedures: 3"4 half days clinic, 3"4 half days surgery, 1 full day off Call: 1:5, one full week (Fri"Fri), no clinic during call week; rotating holidays Average volumes: 12"15 patients per half-day clinic; 8"10 cases per half-day surgery Multiple RNs (shared), dedicated MA per physician, 2 in-house surgery schedulers Outreach clinics in LaPorte, Chesterton, Valparaiso (all within 30 minutes) Potential virtual visits Hospital-based NP for new consults/rounding; clinic NP support Strong mentorship from senior GI leadership Robust referral base: 75"100 general GI referrals per week In-network oncology services with full wraparound support Onsite equipment: BRAVO, PillCam, FibroScan; HD Motility and EndoFlip at Surgicenter Advanced endoscopist in group providing EUS and advanced pancreaticobiliary work Compensation & Benefits (Summary): Competitive compensation with income guarantee and bonus incentives Recruitment bonus, relocation allowance; potential commencement/retention packages Paid malpractice 27 days PTO plus 5 CME days with annual CME stipend Full benefits: health, life, dental, vision, legal insurance Retirement options: 403(b), 457(b), 401(a) Short- and long-term own-occupation disability Leadership, committee, and marketing support opportunities Community: Michigan City is a lake-side community in LaPorte County with access to Lake Michigan and Indiana Dunes , offering beaches, boating, fishing, and year-round outdoor recreation.
