Summary Of Position

This position is in Northstar's Welding Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position.

• Responsible for the efficient, timely, and economical accomplishment of assigned weld work.
• Responsible for welding activities, abiding by established policies, plans, methods, procedures, deadlines, and priorities
• Interpret weld specifications and customer requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

• Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing and seeing
• Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds

• Occasional sitting, writing and typing
• Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of product and/or parts
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles

• The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.

Qualifications And Experience Required

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent experience. Must be certified to AWS D17.1.

Experience Required: 5 years' recent experience in welding of complex sheet metal aerospace fabricated hardware

• Understand Shop 5S per established Schedule and additional 5S activities as required
