What You Will Do
Work under moderate supervision with acoustic engineers to perform in-water acoustic sensor testing at our acoustic test facility
Work with engineers to rig and fixture acoustic sensors and configure test equipment in support of in-water test events.
Perform crane operations to rig and position engineering test articles and hydrophones/projectors within the test facility.
Build and provide in-process test of acoustic sensors, including fine-pitch soldering, working with adhesives and chemicals, manufacturing tooling, curing cycles, fiber optics and general mechanical work.
Work with facilities personnel to ensure day-to-day operation of test tank equipment, such as water filtration, overhead cranes and plumbing systems.
Ensure engineering work in the test facility is conducted in accordance with lab operating procedures and company policy.
Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for identified schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Assimilate data packages for devices tested and make them available for cognizant engineering personnel.
Provide written communications of work accomplished and any pertinent issues encountered to designated managerial and subject matter experts

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience with performing technician work in an engineering and/or production test environment.
Experience with the use of typical benchtop electronic test equipment inclusive of oscilloscopes, voltmeters, impedance analyzers and amplifiers.
Experience with the following processes or similar; adhesive bonding, chemical mixing, encapsulation, paint application, chromate touch up, vapor degreasing, die grinding, sanding, mechanical press, oven curing, vacuum bagging, vacuum chambers, micro/grit-blast, fiber optic splicing.

General Summary

HII is seeking an experienced Welder to join our team supporting the Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces (COMUSFLTFORCOM) Berthing and Messing Program, which operates duty crew berthing barges that provide essential living and working spaces for crews during ship overhaul and repair periods. *This position is contingent up on contract award*
Essential Job Responsibilities
As a Welder, you will perform organizational-level (O Level) maintenance and repairs to maintain and restore metal components aboard berthing barges. Core duties include:
Maintain, repair, fabricate, and replace metal components for barges and installed equipment.
Perform welding tasks on light, heavy gauge, and hardened metals using flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
Apply welding processes including preheating, brazing, bead welding, tack welding, flame cutting, pressure welding, and heat treating.
Provide adequate fire watch and fire extinguishing equipment during welding operations; comply with NAVSEA and OSHA hot work standards.
Inform COR/ACOR prior to any welding, burning, or open flame work and obtain required approvals.
Work to be completed in meets OEM specifications, NAVSEA Standard Items, and safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6+ years of experience in welding and metal fabrication in marine or industrial environments on multiple metal types
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty
  • Must show proficiency in multiple welding positions and processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW) and fabrication.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and OEM specifications.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 50 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Must consistently wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety boots, fall protection) and follow program safety training/briefings. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing goods and services, managing supplier relationships, supporting RFQ processes, and ensuring timely and cost‑effective procurement in alignment with Titan America’s operational needs. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and finance teams to support plant requirements and corporate procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Execute purchasing activities for raw materials, equipment, services, and project-related items.
  • Prepare, issue, and analyze RFQs and RFPs to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, perform cost analysis, and make recommendations based on total cost of ownership.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements.

Supplier Management

  • Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and compliance with Titan America standards.
  • Track and monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as on‑time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to price discrepancies, delivery delays, or quality concerns.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering to understand material needs and project requirements.
  • Manage purchase order creation, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, forecasts, and spend data.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies, contracts, and risk‑management protocols.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, cost savings, and efficiency.
  • Assist with contract management, vendor onboarding, and database maintenance within the ERP system.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with RFQs, supplier evaluation, and purchase order management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with category management (raw materials, industrial equipment, spares and consumables, services).
  • Knowledge of commercial contracting and vendor performance management.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and logistics processes.
  • Professional certifications (CPSM, CPM, CSCP) a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, issue, and maintain detailed production schedules for fabrication and manufacturing
  • Adjust plans to account for changing priorities, material availability, and shop constraints
  • Coordinate material flow and readiness to support production execution
